Hello! I recently got a copy of Cubic Ninja and I want to run luma3ds. I do not want to install luma, but run it in an EmuNand. I don't know how to do it though. Please help.
Congrats! you just wasted your money. Follow this guide to get cfw on your 3ds (ninjhax is an old outdated and unnecessary entrypoint) Also emunands are useless nowadays because there's no risks involved in running cfw on sysnand
It is not Luma3DS that is installed (though it is a good idea to have Luma boot.firm on the NAND as well). The real modification is B9S (boot9strap) loading Luma automatically on each boot.
The Cubic Ninja exploit is still a possibility to start the Homebrew Launcher and use userland homebrew without CFW. This includes some emulators but is not enough to install 3DS games.
Only very old firmware version with things like Menuhax.
Runs only very old Luma. Not a good idea and not possible on 11.8
All firmware version with latest Luma: ntrboot into Luma3DS each time you want to use custom firmware.
This does not modify anything.
Not convenient. Seriously!
If you want to install homebrew and/or 3DS games as .CIA files you end up modifying your NAND anyway. Starting installed titles without legit ticket only works while CFW is loaded.
In theory ntrboot to EmuNAND could work as well – eliminating SysNAND modification for installing games – but I never got it to work.
That said I recommend https://3ds.hacks.guide if you want to make the most out of your console. The process is very save. If you do exactly what is said on the guide without skipping anything (like the SD check and the NAND backup) it is basically impossible to screw up. EmuNAND adds more complexity and is more or less useless for the average user nowadays.

Most exploits I see require bruteforcemovable and I wanted to use ninjhax as I don't need to be online. (And I don't have wifi, just ethernet) And plus, I want it on a EmuNand, Not SysNand. (I don't want to cfw my 2ds xl just EmuNand it)

I dont think you get the point of this. You HAVE to have CFW in order to even make and run a emunand. Which in turn defeats the purpose of it as you would have cfw.

Redirecting read/write commands from the actual NAND chip to the SD is a very deep modification of the operating system. This requires CFW (running on highest privileges). Just starting the Homebrew Launcher from any entrypoint (Ninjahax, oot3dhax, pichaxx… whatever) just runs on the lowest possible privileges (userland ARM11).
What you want is impossible as there are no public exploits for getting elevated privileges on 11.8 in 3DS mode just from the HB Launcher.
"I want to use Luma." and "I don't want CFW." contradict each other – Luma3DS is the CFW.
I never had Gateway and never used things like Menuhax (came way later to 3DS softmodding) so my knowledge about these is very, very limited. As far as I know they (Gateway, rxTools, Luma3DS and possibly others) relied on further exploits on low firmware to gain highest privileges after booting the normal System Menu (prior to A9LH). This were things like "Go to System Settings each time you want to boot into CFW" or "Start the Browser and go to the site[…] each time you want to boot into CFW" to start an exploit chain.
==============
I really hope I got this above more or less right. The result is clear anyway: No Luma3DS and no (mostly obsolete) EmuNAND on 11.8 without installing B9S to the actual NAND.
The only (real) alternative to the *miner methods is getting an ntrboot flashcart which is independent from the firmware version and does not require online. Again: I tried loading EmuNAND via ntrboot on an unmodified 3DS some time ago but it failed – I don't know why.

Not a chance on your current firmware. And before ya go saying ya want to downgrade to use it. it requires cfw to do so. What you are wanting is something you are sol for.

if you want an emunand so desperately, run gateway from firmware 4.5 and create an emunand, it's possible to update to the latest firmware with frankenfirm, i have 11.13 emunand gateway, but no risk for luma in sysnand as the other users said.
