A Laptop running a Windows 10 OS is only outputting audio via headphones

As the thread title reads the laptop in question is running a Windows 10 OS and it is only outputting audio via headphones the speakers omit no audio and updating the drivers only worked as a temporary fix as after a few days the issue started up again should I reinstall the sound driver? or could the issue be caused by another component thanks for any suggestions that can be provided

Click into the speaker icon on the Task Bar, normally it should be located in the down-right corner. You will see then the device name and the volume levels. Check if the device name is a drop-down list, if it is, then you should see multiple sound devices if available, so just change to the device you want the sound to come out from.

If that doesn't work you can go into the device manager and uninstall all the audio drivers. Then you can restart your computer, hit the windows key, type update, then click on the windows update option. From there check for updates let it install then restart and try again
