Homebrew Can Riivolution play with mods on a US game on a PAL console?

I want to play the Storm Island mod for Wii Sports Resort but it requires a US copy of the game

I’m from/in the UK and have the PAL/UK version of Wii Sports Resort

Can Riivolution (what Storm Island uses to load the mods) load mods on a US copy of the game on a PAL console?

I have Priiloader installed with its region free everything option on plus I have a Wii U with only Riivolution and the HBC installed

If you have a PAL console and a US copy of the game can you test the mods to see if they work on a PAL console

please let me know if they do or not so i know whether to buy a copy of the US version or not.

I'm not very experienced in cross-region things or the game, but, maybe you could try editing the Riivolution XML file for Storm Island to use the PAL game ID rather than the western ID.

i was told by the mod creator that the XML works with all regions of the game (i tested and it does) but the memory addresses the mod uses don’t work on the PAL version of the game. which is why i’m confused whether its the game the console or both thats the problem here

the PAL version of this game with the mod enabled simply gives me a black screen

to me it sounds more like the game then the console thats the problem

I'm fairly confident that the mod only requires the region of the game to be US, not both the console and the game. IIRC the region of the console mostly just affects a few things like the Shop Channel (which is discontinued) and region locking any out-of-region games (which you took care of already with Priiloader).

My recommendation: snag a US copy of the game if you can and use that instead.

Seems Riivolution doesn't work on Wii U vWii, for this game...

Yes, I played several JP game, with or without patch, and a Europe game, all on my NTSC vWiiU, works perfectly. BUT Just NOT for this specific game ikenie-no-yoru(even without patch)

BTW. the old Gecko can run it. and according to the thread above, Revolution on NTSC Wii seems also run it. Just on Wii U, it is not working...

Hope Riivolution can get a small update...

Riivolution doesn’t work with wbfs/iso files or burned discs only legit discs
