Hi,

I'm new to switch hacking and just got an sxos pro dongle.
My first action was to create a nand backup from the sxos interface.
Then, after activating the sxos licence, i booted the custom firmeware to confirm that it works.

After a few readings i now understand a few things:
- booting with a CFW has somehow tainted my nand (i guess by creating logs traceable by Ninendo..)
- i can avoid this by creating an emunand
- to restore a clean nand i need to restore my nand backup
- i should have created a nand backup with hekate which is more reliable than the sxos one

I have a few questions :
- is a nand backup done with sxos restorable with hekate ?
- if not, is the sxos restore procedure "safe" ?
- which emunand format should i choose (hidden parition file vs file), and which tool should i use to create one that will be "sxos" compatible ?

many many thanks

I have a problem. I have an HP Chromebook 11.6'' HD Diagonal Display (Model #: 11-v031nr) running Chrome OS 61.0.3163.120 (Official Build) (64-bit). The other day, I was able to inject the Hekate Payload into my Switch using "webcfw.sdsetup.com". I did a few things, then shut it off. When I went to inject the Payload the very next day, using the very same method, my Chromebook didn't recognise my Switch AT ALL! Now it seems I am unable to boot into the Hekate menu on my Chromebook. However, on my Sister's HP Chromebook x360 Convertible PC (Model #: 11-ae131nr), running Chrome 0S 79.0.3945.123 (Official Build) (64-bit), I'm able to boot into Hekate 100% of the time, using the very same methods. Since I can't use my Sister's laptop ALL THE TIME to inject the Payload to boot into Hekate, I want to know, what's going on with MY laptop, and how can I fix it? Is there any other way I can inject a Payload on my Chromebook?

Edit: Nevermind, I solved it simply by updating my Chrome OS!

I seriously dont know whats going on anymore, i installed Atmosphere without problems but now cant install games, i downloaded the sigpatches and overwrote the files in the folders yet i still get "Invalid NCA , missing sigpatches or too low firmware (im on 8.0.1 btw).

Nevermind, i just combined the sigpatches from the SDFiles website with the sig patches from this topic https://gbatemp.net/threads/i-heard-that-you-guys-need-some-sweet-patches-for-atmosphere.521164/ and then overwrote the files that were on my SD card, now it works.

Hey guys, I just want to know how to remove cfw sysnand icon from hekate launch button. I searched and I found that you make it in hekate_ipl.ini but once I open the .ini I don´t know what to delete there. Anybody knows?

The dump produced by SX OS should be compatible with Hekate. And with SX OS, you can use either file or partition based but if you're super paranoid, you can use the partition method. SX OS can create emuNAND for you without the need for external tools.

You remove the sysNAND CFW launch entry.

Yeah, but what exactly is the line I should remove there? I don´t want to screw things.

The entry for Sysnand will look something like this
[Atmosphere FSS0 SYS]
fss0=atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin
kip1=atmosphere/kips/*
emummc_force_disable=1
icon=bootloader/res/sys_cfw_boot.bmp
{}

Just keep a backup of the file and if you mess up restore it and try again :)

I have my modded Switch coming today, which the guy has used a trinket mod and SX OS with the license. It apparently boots into OFW as normal and into a payload selector with a button press. So you have the choice of modded or not. I thought this would require Emunand to switch between the OFW and Sx OS for example? When questioned he said he'd never used emunand he had installed a 'trinket mod but with a modified code which allows multiple payloads'. He seemed a bit vague, so can anyone advise me on where to go from here as I'm unclear how he has set it up! Many thanks

Thanks for the reply.
A few more questions :unsure::
-> The files produced by an sxos backup (BOOT0, BOOT1, full.0x.bin files from 1 to 7) and hekate backup (BOOT0, BOOT1, rawnand.bin) are not the same. do i need a conversion tool, or i can concatanate full.0x.bin files to produce a rawnand.bin ?
-> By choosing a partition emuNAND, will it be compatible with other CFW like atmosphere ?

:bow:

Hekate can read split backup files but if it doesn't read the ones produced by SX OS, you may need to merge them into one file. And a partition based emuMMC is compatible with all CFW. On the other hand, SX OS is the only CFW that can effectively utilize file based emuMMC.

Ok then, i'll try in that order :
1. create a partition based emuMMC from sxos
2. boot and test that emuMMC
3. try to restore the sxos nand backup on sysMMC from hekate to get clean nand

And i'll report here.
It the restore process works, i'll make a small thread to describe all the steps

Okay so heres my issue. Yesterday I decided to update from 8.1 to 9.1 and it went smoothly using ChoiDujourNX. I then used kosmos 15.1 to get atmosphere 0.10.2, but when i tried to install an nsp in goldleaf it gave me an error. For some reason I deleted everything in the sd card on my pc don't ask me why I did I don't even know and now my switch is stuck in autorcm. I've tried everything and now im on here asking for help.

I am still a newbie and have a few questions. I got a 2nd switch, wanting to use one for legit and one for CFW. (I am doing this for pokemon sword and shield only and not going to pirate games) I will be using SX OS and have goldleaf for my save file edit. First question is how do I download the DLC in emuNAND? - I know this will be important when the expansions arrive later this year. Second question is, and it may be dumb, but will I be able to link trade without going online? I haven't tried it before as I haven't had two of the same game systems until now. Third question is, if I can't do any downloading in emuNAND, how do I get my progress transferred to OFW so I can take advantage of the DLC, Home, and expansions when they come?

1) Download the DLC as NSP and install it.
2) I think you can trade offline too.
3) You can't transfer to OFW (I guess you use it for online) and keep it clean without the risk of ban.

You have downloaded the sigpatches for 9.1.0 which are mentioned in the Kosmos 15.1 release?

Yes I did at first, but then when I saw it wasn't working I just erased my sd card and redownloaded everything and thus now im stuck. I launch tegra and im in rcm ok but no payload works now. I'm stuck on a black screen and I have no idea what to do now. I have my nandbackup from 8.1.0 but I have no idea what I am doing.

1) How do I download it as an NSP? And then how do I install it?
2) trading is like a local trade, just use both switches with pin code in wireless mode?
3) if we can't transfer to OFW, how can you get pokemon caught in CFW to Pokemon Home - especially if you can't go online in CFW?
