I've only used sxos since xci is easier.
But atmosphere does have some cooler stuff so I want to use that too.
Today I set up atmosphere and it's working (as in some nsp games I installed work)
While in sxos, I installed an xci game so I can play it in atmosphere - Trine 4.
After deleting the xci, the installed game loads fine in sxos.
But in atmosphere it says 'The software was closed because an error occured'.

Any ideas?
Thanks

- ok, it seems there is something wrong with my atmosphere setup.
it seems I could do what I wanted (sys-con) with sxos anyway
but I have wiped my whole switch and started again from scratch using emummc now

i'm really struggling with installing nsps on my switch.

currently running on 8.0.1/atmosphere 0.9.4, i have tinfoil 0.2.1 and i've been trying to install pkmn shield nsp through usb install.

i keep getting OpenFileSystemWithId:101: Failed to open file system with id:

i've installed sigpatches from the most popular post on this forum but i still can't get this to work.

when i open goldleaf, there isn't an option for usb installations.

what am i doing wrong?

edit: nevermind, a reboot seemed to fix the issues?

Try using Awoo-Installer

Hi quick question just installed cfw atmosphere 0.9.4 emmunand, i was originally on fw 8.0.1. Ijust updated with choidujournx to 9.0.1 and now my gamecart reader doesnt work is there a way to make it work with no damage to my swicth ? i read somewhere that disabling auto nogc would work but will it mess up my switch ?

Hey,

I recently updated to fw 9.0 and forgot to install sigpatches. I tried to boot an nsp and it of course didn't work. After installing sigpatches, I can play any nsp except the one I clicked on previously as it is not "corrupted" and the switch wants to run check on it which fails. I was wondering if there was anyway to clear this "corrupted" status? (i actually clicked on a few so it would be quite time consuming to reinstall them all).

Open "atmosphere/BCT.ini" and add "nogc = 0" at the very bottom.

I updated my emuNand to 9.0.1 from 8.1.0 using choixdujourNX and I followed the manual update guide on switch.homebrew.guide. I’ve run into a problem where I get a black screen after the sept splash screen when running cfw emuMMC from hekate 5.0.2 and a black screen after the atmosphere splash screen when I use fusee_primary.bin. It seems to crash and boot into rcm mode because I can inject a payload right after I get the black screen. There is a weird thing, I don’t know if it updated because autoRCM is not enabled and I can boot into the regular system even though I enabled autoRCM when updating through choixdujour. I don’t have any custom themes loaded on my switch.

EDIT: Solved the problem by doing a clean install of atmosphere.

Using the guide (gettingstarted/checkingrcm), I 'm unable download the "test payload" to verify. Is that normal or is there a different link?

EDIT: Solved. Used Hekate Payload.

If the switch tagged as unpatched (XAW4000457) but has the latest firmware 9.0.1, can I still install homebrew to it? thanks

So I have an old (april 2018) switch on 4.1. I wanna update to be able to play pokemon tomorrow but also want CFW in the future.
Will updating my switch now prevent me from getting cfw in the future? will I only be able to get a "worse" cfw if I update?
If I get CFW now, can I still play online with games I own?

Firmware is irrelevant for unpatched consoles as the exploit used relies on the hardware.

Just like I told the user above you, firmware is irrelevant for unpatched consoles as the exploit used relies on the hardware. Most CFW support all firmware versions. However if you do use CFW, you risk getting banned when you go online.

Will switching between CFW (for homebrew/backups) and sysnand (for online play) be more of a hassle if my switch's "base" is a higher firmware?
Will booting into CFW itself get more annoying if I hack on 9.0? I've read abouot warm/coldboot and that they aren't possible if I update from 4.1, but how much do those really matter?

Not really since part of the exploit requires sending a payload via USB and these payloads act as custom bootloaders which can bypass the fuse check fundamentally allowing you to boot any firmware. The current exploit is already a coldboot and warmboot is already possible on firmware versions 4.1 and lower with firmware 5.0-7.X support coming sometime in the future. This warmboot hack requires you to boot into a network in order to launch CFW.

First, I just want to thank everyone on this forum. You all got me through hacking my 3ds and now my switch. Now that I am running the latest atmosphere on emuMMC when in emuMMC am I able to remove all of the games from the home xmb except one of course for loading the brew menu without messing up said games on the sysMMC. I'm trying to de-clutter my emuMMC's xmb. Based on my layman's knowledge I'm assuming yes, but I am looking for a more knowledgeable second opinion. Thank you in advance.

Hello all....
I have problems with a couple of game updates that were released recently.
They show up as white icons in sxos install and give error when I try to install them...
Not all updates do this just these games :

Zelda_Links_Awakening_Update_[v1.0.1] [v65536].nsp
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Update [v1.0.1]
Ice Age Scrats Nutty Adventure Update [v1.0.1] [v65536]
Luigis Mansion 3 Update [v1.1.0] [v65536].nsp

I have downloaded the update files from three diffrent sites, but all the same white icon and error when trying to install.
Anyone know why this happen? I cant find any answers to this problem, is it just me this happen to?
My switch is on the latest firmware 9,01 and the latest sxos 2,92. All my xci are installed on the sd-card and not mounted.....

So every body states that nintendo takes a snapshot of your switch when its online, so my question is this, I make a nand backup, if I were to restore it after using my switch for a while online on clean sysnand would I get banned since it is in a different state then the snapshot? If so, I would assume that I have to make a nand dump after every time I go online?

Yes because to Nintendo, it would seem like your NAND is moving "backwards" if that makes sense.

Is there a way to dump/extract games or updates from sysNAND using a computer tool? All I really want on emuNAND is Smash for the purpose of modding - to get updates is dumping the entire sysNAND and recreating emuNAND the only option?

Edit: would moving the nintendo folder to the emu folder update everything or does something on emuMMC need to change first?

what are my chances of getting banned, if i restore from a clean nand backup so i can play online with the switch. Im using SXOS right now. and have never been online while on CFW, whenver i update i restore nand first then backup and jailbreak.

Quick question pls, I’m running SX OS and have been offline 100%, my son has a switch lite with no cfw. If we both play Pokemon in the house is there way for me to do trades with him whilst I’m offline and running emuNAND?

cheers
