ub3r1337's first impressions from a direct demo of TX upcoming new hardware mods!

ub3r1337 recently meet with TX to have them demo to him their upcoming new mods for the Switch (patched, mariko and lite). Unfortunately, he didn't get any pictures, but he says they'll be coming later on. Even so, he shared some of this new information at MaxConsole, also shown below:

First Off: It is a hardware mod. TX went back to its roots, and this solution is a device you need to install inside your Switch.

From what we could tell the install looks ultra simple and almost plug and play. When pushed about the install requirements, TX held back from claiming its fully solder-less, stating clearly that this particular design will always benefit from a few simple solder connections, versus the original intent of fully solder-less (at least for the classic model which is the unit we got to inspect).

In other words, a fully solder-less install is potentially possible with the classic models however it is not recommended by TX due to long term reliability concerns (we will cover this more in-depth at a later date, once we have our preview unit in our hands and put it thru some tests)

Second Point: There is one device for Patched and Mariko unit which is probably under production (see point three) and should be available soon They plan to release 2 devices; one for all classic versions (original, patch and mariko) and one for the Switch Lite.

Third Point: I really pushed for a release date, but TX refused to confirm anything during our meeting. From what I understood, even though it seems to be currently under production, because all sorts of things can occur in the factory during production, they will not commit to a date to me or their resellers until they are certain they can deliver on time enough stock to meet the demand.

I guess I can only respect that, this is probably why they did not announce anything yet, and we should know more once it is finally officially announced on their TX website.

At some point ub3r1337 hopes to get some pictures and videos from TX and a review unit, but we have no clue when that will happen. For now we just have to sit and wait for some more news regarding these new TX hardware mods to appear online!

I will continue to be skeptical and post skepticism to Gary's threads. Just because a few things happen, doesn't mean his credibility is saved just like that. For every one thing that he's gotten right, there are at least 3 things he's lied about or posted misinformation about. Gary's history isn't superseded by a few honest posts, he's still a shill, he still misinforms the community regularly, his claims earned their share skepticism. Your personal choice to ignore his history doesn't mean I can't choose to continue to bring it up when I see something worth being concerned about.

You call that a fix for a hack that was announced a year ago but fake? A fix would've been oops wrong model, heres a video showing the right tmodel (Ipatched) doing what we said we had...?

It's a WoW player who's involved in some fan translations of Pokemon and also likes posting himself pooping in free time.

Joking aside, if exploit is real, that'll be kinda dope, and if it's not, then TX just torpedoed their own reputation in the butt in the long run - time will tell, so let's take a collective chill pill =)

It just seem like they mess up patched and unpatched device and thought it work. They delete the video and everything, it isn't like it not working and they still claim and defend that they can.

Gary claimed multiple times that the Gateway 3DS would be updated and even provided multiple dates, all of which never happened. Gary claimed Stargate was not made by the Gateway team, then lied when it was revealed that the Stargate website was in fact registered under the gateway team's email. Gary claimed multiple updates for the Stargate 3DS were going to happen, they never happened. Gary claimed both the Luma3DS team, Rei-Six team, and d0k worked with the Gateway team to make their respective projects work with Stargate 3DS, then when confronted he attempted to lie again, which was exposed by me (I am close friends with everyone involved in those projects and the second member of the Rei-Six team which was just Crimson and myself.) He lied about multiple OFW updates for both the 3DS and Switch, claiming all kinds of features were being added the like, then went silent when called out and or when the OFW update happened. These are just some of the lies or misinformation that are all very easy to find if you just look through his posting history or have been around long enough to have experienced them first hand.
There's an extremely controversial history surrounding the TX team and history of using untested community code, which has even resulted in multiple updates just to fix the broken code that they didn't test. There are other parts of their history but know mentioning those parts tends to bring up a real shitstorm.
As for this thread, without proof why should I trust them? I have no reason to trust Gary nor anyone involved with his site considering their long history of posting shill information.

I bought 2 and my kids still use them when ever they dust off their 3ds. They've had many years of use out of them, I've no complaints about buying them, or with Gateway, nothing last forever..

but to this day 99% of games still work using the last Gateway 3DS update.

That’s a lot of words for someone who completely missed the point of my post. My post has zero to do with anything you just said. My post was in reply to the comment that Gary has never lied, which I presented examples of the times Gary has lied to the community.
