Team-Xecuter has done it again, they have updated their world-famous SX OS to now support the latest v9.0 Switch firmware from Nintendo.
Today, we bring you a much needed update of SX OS. Full compatibility with the latest Switch firmware 9.0! Sorry that we kept you waiting, we wanted to make sure all our unique features still properly work.

Additionally, we also introduced support for the "Horizon split format". This means that people who use FAT32 can have folders named 'game.xci' with split parts contained therein (named 00, 01, 02, etc.). Make sure the folder has the 'archive' bit set.

We know you are waiting for some other big features in SX OS, they are coming.. We wanted to get this compatibility update out first though.

So what are you waiting for? SX OS 2.9 beta is available for download on our website now! (and also through the builtin online updater part of SX OS.)

Okay noob question, I don’t mine fuses or downgrading, my hacked nintendo is banned, is it safe to assume I can upgrade through nintendo servers?

Can you update while banned? I did the sysNAND that way (I use emuNAND for CFW), but it probably would go bad if I wanted to restore a NAND backup.

Cart support doesn't seem to be full yet. If I boot into CFW with a cart on it'll crash with an error.

For anyone that has a bricked EMUNAND--

1. Update SYSNAND to 9.0 through Nintendo's regular method (if you have the option to/want to)
2. In SX bootloader, dump just the BOOT0 and BOOT1 (these will match your system and be good for 9.0 firmware)
3. Copy from SX\Backup to SX\emunand (rename the old boot0 and boot1 first!)
** Your EMUNAND should boot again but be kinda janky (no games work/xci mount) Homebrew is fine, back up your saves **
4. Boot into 9.0 with SXOS 2.9b and install Choi 1.01 and DOWNGRADE to 8.1 firmware
5. Reboot, system should be good now back on 8.1. Stay here or continue at your own risk!

6. Put SXOS 2.8b back on your SD card along with Choi 1.02 and boot it.
7. Update to 9.0 firmware while in EMUNAND and power down after the update
8. Put SXOS 2.9b on your SD and boot... pray!

I've got my boot0 and boot 1 files, but I don't have access to my emunand. I have an SX OS\ folder, and SX OS\Backup is where my dumps were, but no emunand folder.

I'm guessing this is because I installed my emunand on a hidden partition, and not just in "files on microsd".

Try to mount your emunand/USER with biskey3 using HacDiskMount and copy save folder. Use save extractor tool to get decrypted save data.

You have to dump emunand hidden partition using dd or so.

Good luck!

Is it possible to dump the USER partition and restore the USER partition to the new emunand?

Exactly right, if there is a way to mount the hidden partition somehow just drop them into that... but I haven't messed with that method :D

When you dump it I -think- it removes keysigs and stuff... sooo... I would think not but maybe? Saves shouldn't be an issue you can just use checkpoint or something to reimport them.

Anyone else having issues with 9.0 on 2.9 seeing large NSP files? I was able to copy and install a 150MB NSP but i just tried to copy and install two different NSP files greater than 6GB and I'm unable to even see them in tinfoil.. If i put SD card into PC I can see the NSP is there..

P.S: im on 9.0.0 (exFAT)
Try USB installation. Also much less of a hassle.

This didnt work for me... my issue was freezing when installing 9.0 com Choi. I'm creating a new emunand and I got mu USER contents from the old bricked emunand.
