So, Switchroot's main hinderences are it's boot time, battery life, battery charge speed, not remembering joycons, & not charging the joycons? Since it does DS and Gamecube emulation better and gives you access to android games too...
Yes and the funky touchscreen, and performance issue sthat result from the cards reading speeds in ext4 not being the best. :) Again, once you are in emulation - none of that matters. :)

Also - for gamecube emulation, lakka might be better (or not - hard to tell, since many gamecube games probably wont run full speed - it should be close in that instance. :)).

Controller charging isnt as much of an issue (put atmosphere on the fat32 partition (dont delete files present in the bootloader folder), boot into atmosphere once in a while, without having to switch the sdcard) as the controllers hold charge pretty well actually.

Also for some reason I like UI navigation in android more than in lakka - but thats just odd personal preference. :)

edit: Joycons are digital inputs rather than analog is also an issue in Dreamcast games. :) (Of course.)

I'm trying to use balenaetcher to flash switchroot to a 32gb sd card but it keeps failing. I selected the 32gb switchroot, I have balenaetcher 1.5.53, I open balenaetcher as admin, I've verified the card with H2testw, and I've redownloaded both switchroot and balenaetcher... Guys have any other suggestions?

Etcher says that it is completing the flash but then gives me an error stating "failed device physicaldrive3: unknown: unknown error, write" afterwards the sdcard isn't detected by my PC with a "Please insert a disk into USB Drive (F: )" popping up when I insert it.
Odd. try a different sdcard still.

Or reformat the card to fat32 then try again.

Also check the sha256 checksums, that are provided in the release thread to see if your image download got corrupted.

In reverse order actually.. ;)

checked the image, it isn't corrupted. The card is formatted to fat32. I'm curious if it isn't working because the card technically is only 28gb; it says it's 32 but after formatting it only comes up as 28.7gb...

unfortunately I won't be able to test with the 16gb image for 12hrs... (PC only has 1 sdcard reader and I'm running h2testw on a 200gb card I recently got)

Anyone know if openGL 3 works? When I boot up a game in dolphin I get an error. Vulkan works, just doesn't work well. Analog works with the joycon fix.

Max CPU Speed with the high performance profile is 1120Mhz according to Aida.
Open GL Es Version supported is 3.2 - although I've also read several times, that for Dolphin Vulkan is recommended.

As far as Dolphin is concerned, the MMJ version is said to run better performance wise. (Version I've installed but not tested yet: Dolphin_5.0-9494_V18_MMJ.apk )

No. High performance maxes out at 1785mhz, quick performance maxes out at 1581mhz, and balanced maxes out at 1020mhz
Thank you. What I did was to touch the screen and move it around irratically, and watched the Mhz number. (Touching the screen usually spikes the Mhz number, because its expected, that there will be an increased activity load) Your stress test probably was more thorough and therefore more correct. ;)

Yay! More lag, and an extra, unnecessary device running! :)

You must be a fan of Plex. ;)

(No I didn't try, but you are welcome to. :) )

Instead of streaming PS4 to PC and then PC to Switch why not just stream PS4 directly to Switch via the PS4 Remote Play app?

Can anyone fix my issue with Android for Switch?
I can't actually get it to run at all.

So, i've done everything the right way as far as i know..
Flashed the SD with Etcher and the 32GB image it needed..
Placed the Unzipped Shieldifier and open_gapps-arm64-8.1-stock Zips in the 2GB partition
and removed the micro sd card, pushed the payload and pressed on the Android for Switch icon while holding the Vol + button..
and all i get is a black screen.. i tried it multiple different ways aswell.. like before touching the icon, Right after touching the icon etc.. and i either get the "HEKATE" logo or just a black screen.. can anyone help? i even tried different Micro SD cards and they all do the same thing?
I've attached screenshots of how everything looks after Flashing

If etcher didn't throw you an error message, keep the plus button pressed, and wait longer.

I mean - you are copying over an sdcard image. So we are basically cloning the entire installation for every end user. Zero setup. Zero stuff that could go wrong. If you manage to somehow get user error into that - you are talented.

Card defect?

(If you copied over any .zip package to the fat32 partition, doesnt change anything - for the system booting this could as well have been a video file.)

I only ask this way since its a more up to date version of remote play and less modification is needed

one thing the guides mislead people is when you go to flash things you need to mount all partitions not just the two

you leave the zip files zipped on sd card and hold vol + until you see the recovery screen it could feel like good 10 secs

For TWRP you can start holding vol+ before you press the android icon, and just keep holding it. It can take a while for TWRP to start up. If it doesn't at all tho, after lots of attempts, you probably need a different SD card - the newer and faster the better.

Silly question but when you say that you "removed the micro sd card" do you mean that it isn't in your system when you boot to RCM? The sd card should be in your Switch when you push the payload.

If you are pushing Hekate then after you get to the Hekate menu you'll want to go to the second launch option, "More Configs". There you should see the option for Switchroot.

The issues been fixed now, the problem was that when it asked me to format the SD card I did, turns out you're not supposed to. I was following along with a video tutorial as opposed to reading the gbatemp post.

I installed the joycon fix from the twrp menu but l3 and r3 still don't appear to be working for me.
