NUT GUI USB and Network installer for Tinfoil and SX Installer

Easiest way is to just download nut.exe to the directory where your NSP's are, and start it. Will install NSP's from your PC to the switch via USB or network connection. The games will show up on the switch (in the "new games" section) to install, the PC client is just a dumb server. Default username and password is guest/guest for network install.

# USB Install

Run server.py or Windows users can use the precompiled nut.exe in the release section.

Follow the directions found in the release page to install the USB driver.

After you run the server, ensure NSP's are visible in the list. If they are not, change the path and click the "scan" button.

Connect your USB cable from your switch to your PC.

Start Tinfoil or SX Installer, and all of the NSP's listed in nut server should now be available to install in Tinfoil or SX Installer.

# Network Install

Run server.py or Windows users can use the precompiled nut.exe in the release section.

After you run the server, ensure NSP's are visible in the list. If they are not, change the path and click the "scan" button.

Start Tinfoil or SX Installer, then go to locations, then select "Add New" location. Enter the ip, port, username, and password that is displayed in the nut server application, then press save.

All of the NSP's listed in nut server should now be available to install in Tinfoil or SX Installer.

If you're using ReiNX, you already have signature patches.

hmmm, wonder what the issue is then.

Ive notice i also get issues with Goldleaf when trying to install over usb giving me this error message

Error: 0x234a02
Module: FS (2)
Description: invalid NCA (might mean missing sigpatches or a too low FW) (4517)

so i wonder if it is a sigpatch issue. In \ReiNX\patches\ there is only one file, es_patch.rxp. Is that all there should be?

Which system version are you on? I'd also use the latest Atmosphere with the latest signature patches.

ReiNX 2.4 so using cfw 8.1.0.

I was under the impression with the latest ReiNX release you shouldn't have the atmosphere folder on the sd card with ReiNX?? ( i know it used to be included with previous versions however!)

I'm saying you should abandon ReiNX as a matter of troubleshooting.

Bad idea, given ReiNX is one of the two CFW's Tinfoil is made to work on. In the case of Tinfoil, ReiNX > SX > Atmo. Granted, in terms of actual CFW quality, it's more like ReiNX > Atmo > SX, but that's not the argument we're having here.

Atmosphere with fusee-primary is fully supported by Tinfoil. I'm also asking lettuce to do this as a matter of troubleshooting, not because ReiNX is bad. I don't know what the current ReiNX setup is like, what's missing, etc. By switching to a fresh Atmosphere, I know what we are dealing with.

Also, Atmosphere is arguably better than ReiNX. It has more features and is updated for frequently. But, that's not what I'm talking about.

More like grudgingly supported. As far as the current ReiNX setup, there's... not really anything missing aside from eMMC support, which is just a giant meme at this point anyway; we're not in a situation like the 3DS where it well and truly makes sense to have an emunand.

emuNAND support is required if one cares about online play and/or has an ipatched system and wants to play newer games. It's definitely not "just a meme," whatever that's supposed to mean.

But, like I said before, I'm not arguing that ReiNX be ditched. It's a great CFW, albeit Atmosphere has more features right now and receives compatibility updates far sooner. I'm not particularly interested in an Atmosphere vs. ReiNX debate.

Would anyone know why NUT has a status of "USB Status: Disconnected"?

The USB is connected fine and works on old Tinfoil/Goldleaf. New Tinfoil/Lithium is also launched on the Switch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay I figured things out sort of by going through this thread. Found out that location isn't listed anymore its file browser. So I was able to configure it properly. Found out that my vpn was blocking me connecting to nut so I was able to disable it and connect. But now my problem is when I try to install a nsp the screen just flashes and takes me back to the newgames menu.

So I really like using this now. It is especially useful now I reformatted my micro sd to fat32 because of all the corrupt games I was getting. So the USB instal is great.

However, my source for games / DLC / Updates generally doesn't include the title id's for the files. Is there a handy app or similar where I can get these to edit the names, or that automatically does this? I can find the title id's for the games themselves no problem, but the DLC and updates are harder to find.

I don't know where to find ones for DLC but when it comes to updates just add 800 to the id. So "...XXX000" becomes "...XXX800"

NUT should rename the files if they have the title ID in them at least.
