Thank you very much for your respond. I want to make you one more question. Is any way possible to play (licensed cartridge) online games with CFW? What about emuMMC? My goal is to play online the new upcomming Pokemon game. Im very sure that my console is not banned and i have a full stock NAND backup.
Yes, you can play online if you setup a clean NAND. Here are my recommended steps:
  1. Create an emuNAND (AKA emuMMC) from your dirty sysNAND.
  2. Restore your clean NAND backup to your sysNAND.
  3. If you're paranoid, install Incognito and/or 90DNS to the dirty emuNAND so it can never accidentally connect to the internet.
  4. Use the dirty offline emuNAND for all hackery/piracy, and use the clean sysNAND for online play with legitimately purchased games.

Thanks again for your quick respond. :D:D:D

I ll do a little research about this stuff and im already using 90DNS :p1ng:. Can the big N ban my console for using emuNAND or is undetectable? Any accurate documentation for emuNAND will be appreciated.

It is highly unlikely you will be banned if:
  1. You never connect your dirty emuNAND to the internet (or you're using 90DNS and/or Incognito with it).
  2. Your sysNAND is clean.

Just as I figured. You downloaded Hekate by itself. Hekate alone cannot boot CFW. You need Hekate with a properly configured .ini file. Kosmos is a package that comes with a pre-configured Hekate setup to boot Atmosphere.

But I have the KosmosV12 pack. Believe me I've tried the obvious stuff. From a formatted sd card with Kosmos I'm getting

Patching kernel
Patching kips
failed to apply 'nosigchk'!
failed to load firmware.

I'm at a loss at this stage.

Just want to make sure I'm not throwing money away and was hoping someone can confirm my thought process.

My jig arrived yesterday. Using Hekate, I backed up my clean sysNAND, installed emuNAND, and put 90DNS on both the sysNAND and emuNAND. Later in the day, I started putting homebrew and other hackery on the Switch, but after doing so I realized I had selected the "CFW (sysNAND)" option from Hekate instead of the "CFW (emuNAND)" option. I double-checked that the sysNAND was using 90DNS and then restored the clean sysNAND I had created earlier in the day. After verifying there were no issues with the restore, I set up what I wanted to set up on the emuNAND.

I really want to play Super Mario Maker 2 online, so I was planning on buying a physical copy later today and playing it on the now-clean sysNAND. If I'm understanding correctly, I dirtied my sysNAND by using CFW / homebrew on it (albeit very briefly), but since I was on 90DNS from the point it got dirtied to when I restored the clean sysNAND, I should be alright now using the sysNAND online with legitimately purchased games. Is this correct?

Is there any reason I should ever select the "CFW (sysNAND)" option from Hekate? It feels like an accident waiting to happen if I accidentally click it at any point when my sysNAND has a proper Internet connection set up -- can I disable the option somehow?

Well, I'm embarrassed. Apparently, Kosmosv12 was not the most recent one. I downloaded 13.0.2 and it works. Sigh. Lesson learned I guess.

Thanks for your patience Draxzelex. I'm sure it's loads of fun dealing with idiots all day.

Hi there! I have some questions regarding CFW with a new game.

So I have a Switch on 5.0.2 running CFW that never goes online. I installed the CFW using the switch.homebrew.guide site tutorial. I've made a nand and boot backup before running any kind of homebrew.

Ok my question is this: I've bought a cartridge with Stardew Valley, and when I try to play it, the game tells me I need to upgrade the system. What should I do so I can play this game? I've read 2 different ways of solving this: either upgrade using ChoiDujourNX to have newer firmware without burning the fuses or install the XCI taken the cartridge using GoldLeaf.

What do you guys and gals think is the best way to do this?

If I go the ChoiDujourNX way, how can I know what version FW my Switch needs to run the game?

If I GoldLeaf it, where can I learn more about it? I hadn't heard about this method until right now.

Also, If i ever want to go back to the light side of the force, should I just restore those backups to the Switch? If I played my other games on the console while on CFW, will there be any sort of trace on the system?

And the last question: Is there a place where I can read more about writting homebrew for the Switch?

Thanks!

Just use ChoidujourNX and update to the latest available firmware, don't update via Nintendo server or you gonna burn your fuse, goldleaf is a title installer, if you ever want to go back to 5.0.2 you can restore your original nand as long the fuse match with the nand backup you made, assuming you have the boot0/1 and the rawnand, for homebrew app you need to learn how to code, if you don't know how to code don't bother.

Oh OK! I'll read up on ChoiDujourNX then.

I know how to code. I'm looking for a tutorial or manual to setup the tool chains and reference for the libraries.

Thanks for the help!

Hello guys! I have a quick question, can someone plz help? I have a 1.0.0 OFW Switch no fuses burnt, updated to NX-6.1.0 through ChoiDujour. I use SXOS. I accidentally burned my cartridge fuse, I don't even remeber how, but I'm sure of it since the cartridge slot is working in 6.1.0.
Now I want to restore my SysNAND to my clean 1.0.0 backup and update it from there so I can play legit games online on my Sysnand and create an EmuNAND to do hackery stuff. How should I proceed? Do I HAVE TO burn fuses in order to play online with the last firmware or is there any other way?

I want to buy mario maker 2 and play it online. I however am on firmware 3.0.1. I don't think I can go online without accepting ALL of nintendos silly updates it wants to force on me.

What can I do? I can't go online with CFW, I can't go online with my legit firmware... is what I do.... update to the current firmware without burning my fuses? then just go online and use my switch normally? then if I want to enable homebrew stuff later ... downgrade back to a NAND backup of my legit firmware?

Won't updating my firmware via invalid means risk a ban anyways? or is that not a possible way to get banned? I guess I'm just worried even if I make a nand backup of my clean nand.... if I end up getting banned and then restore the backup, somehow the ban will stick to me?

Hi,
My switch is currently on 7.0.1 with 4 burnt fuses and has never been online. I have a clean 3.0.2 nand backup which I plan to restore to play Mario Maker online, and converting my current dirty nand to an emunand. Is it possible to update from my clean 3.0.2 nand in such a way that will preserve my fuses but wont flag me for a ban from Nintendo? Is it even worth preserving my fuses?

Not possible if you want to preserve your fuse and without getting ban from online gameplay.

I see, thanks. Is the only reason to maintain a low fuse count the possibility of an untethered coldboot hack in the future? Would I by jeopardizing that if I burnt my fuses updating?

There is no ETA for Permanent CFW, the closest thing to coldboot cfw is using a modchip with autoboot, it is really up to you. You can always preserve your fuse with autoRCM but you can't play online.

It is possible to update a clean sysNAND to 8.1.0 to play online while also installing AutoRCM and preserving fuses.

My understanding was having AutoRCM on was easily detectable by Nintendo and could lead to a ban, is that not right?

Hmm, so if I keep AutoRCM on, restore my 3.0.2 nand then connect online and update to 8.1 the normal way through the console, I should maintain my fuse count and not be at any increased risk of ban than I would be if I let the fuses burn?

Well if he update via ChoidujourNX it make his NAND dirty, good chance he would get ban, if he update via Nintendo server it burn his fuse and turn autoRCM off.
