Call of Duty: Modern Warfare revealed, reboots the series, has cross play and single player campaign

The latest annual Call of Duty game is here, with Infinity Ward rebooting the popular COD: MW subseries with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Unlike the previous Black Ops IIII, the new Modern Warfare will not utilize a season pass system, instead offering free content to players after launch. The game notably boasts crossplay between consoles and PCs, with both co-op and competitive multiplayer. This marks the return of a single player campaign to the series, which was not a feature in the prior entry. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set for release on October 25, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with the latter being an exclusive through Battle.net.

OW made me get into FPS games and if it doesn't have Activision BS then sure, i'll get it but i'm hella skeptical and will wait after launch to get it.

Giving it the same name as previous game laughable- could of been just a little bit more original and called it modern warzone - bellends:lol:

If they're rebooting this, then MW2 reboot will be in 1-2 years from now maybe

This makes the MW Remaster make sense. The game probably has been in production for a while and they probably wanted to release a "definitive edition" of the old game before they reboot it.

It looks intriguing. Black Ops 4 wanted to be the definitive Black Ops game with mixing old with the new. I feel that this new game will do either of two things. Re imagine the franchise into something more than the run and gunner its known for.. or go back to the war focus the franchise started from with its signature feel. I doubt this will be insignificant for the series.

And this is why companies need to learn to name Their shit better

It just causes confusion
Do you know if Goldeneye is backwards compatible with the xbox one? I got bored of Tomb Raider and Need for Speed. On a different note is Thief really as bad as people say? I tried Turok and it was better than some had led me to believe, though Prey was worse, if not as bad as Medal of Honor. Mind you I played Prince of Persia out of order and it got a bit confusing going back and playing Prince of Persia after that. Worse was all those people hyping both Sim City and Sonic the Hedgehog as some kind of gameplay era defining legends when what I got was awful, and while not as well known I did not know what to make of Shinobi. Mind you some say I should really have played Doom and also have played Mortal Kombat to see where we started, with some also saying I should go back a few years earlier from those and try Wolfenstein too just to see. Personally I like things from a few years either side like Hitman and King's Quest, maybe also Ninja Gaiden if I am feeling the need for a hard game.

and a million micro transactions like they just released in BO4. Plus not a fan of this seeing we already got a remaster of that same game so why the hell remaster it again is beyond me. Milk isn't sour enough i guess
A remaster and a remake aren't even close to being the same thing.

Should have just made MW4, remastered MW2 & MW3, sold them as a bundle & seperate. They would have made a profit from MW2 MW3 remasters because not much work would have went into it.

That said I have long held Perfect Dark has things to teach the world of today (if someone has not played it put down the N64 emulator and get the XBLA remake thing, not sure if it made it to Rare's xbone collection
A bit OT but yes, Perfect Dark (the XBLA version) is on Rare Replay on Xbox one (and it's sequel Perfect Dark Zero is in there too)

Word to the wise. Do not buy Day 1.

Activision have had a practice lately of releasing games without microtransactions just so they get good reviews, then, a few months later they add them in everywhere in the game.

I got bit once when I bought Black Ops 4 so I could play Zombies with just 1 friend. Cost over 100€ just so I could play all the maps.

Now the game is infected out the ass with microtransactions and lootboxes.

I'll never fall for that again.

Good to see single player making a comeback as well as having the traditional online. I like single player modes for when I just can’t be arsed with online. I may actually pick this one up - in a sale :P
