Call of Duty: Modern Warfare revealed, reboots the series, has cross play and single player campaign

The latest annual Call of Duty game is here, with Infinity Ward rebooting the popular COD: MW subseries with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Unlike the previous Black Ops IIII, the new Modern Warfare will not utilize a season pass system, instead offering free content to players after launch. The game notably boasts crossplay between consoles and PCs, with both co-op and competitive multiplayer. This marks the return of a single player campaign to the series, which was not a feature in the prior entry. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set for release on October 25, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with the latter being an exclusive through Battle.net.

I guess this is taking in an alternate universe as it is not connected to the other modern warfare games.

Wait and see for me. MW1 and 2 were not games for all time for me (some seem to treat them as such which is odd to me) but I certainly had a blast with single player and co-op.

Hope we one day get co-op back.

For many MW1 and 2 where their first online experiences which contributes a lot imo

I used to think the same thing until I played MW1 remastered online and saw how far the games have come. It was almost impossible to leave spawn most times without being hit with a grenade launcher

and a million micro transactions like they just released in BO4. Plus not a fan of this seeing we already got a remaster of that same game so why the hell remaster it again is beyond me. Milk isn't sour enough i guess

Didn't really see it like that before but makes some sense of a few things.

If my first networked games were conducted over serial cable (so probably Duke 3d) I don't think I have much. That said I have long held Perfect Dark has things to teach the world of today (if someone has not played it put down the N64 emulator and get the XBLA remake thing, not sure if it made it to Rare's xbone collection). Every time I pick it up and go back to battlefield 4 (arguably the height of that series) afterwards I find battlefield wanting.
