Aside from the Shenmue patch, the rest of those, best I can tell, you have to crack open the .gdi, hexedit the values and rebuild the image, right? Or did i miss a drop .bat for others? IIUC, this can also be achieved via codebreaker...but codebreaker hangs on the "disc swap" bit on Switch. Got it to work on pc, so I'm hoping it will eventually work on Switch as I can't be spending all that time cracking open images and rebuilding them and all that jazz.

Wait, you can't use the cheat functionality of something like RA for individual Widescreen support in games!?

Well, this isn't RA...and besides, those types of widescreen hacks are not the same as actually hex editing the code for games individually, and will have subpar results in comparison.

I'm using exFat and I'm not getting any crashes.

Maybe not today but eventually (and especially with buggy homebrew like this) exfat will eventually completely corrupt the SDCard. Good luck!

EDIT: I'd like to point out, this issue mainly affects homebrew, not OFW or Official Games really. Nintendo has custom code to get around exfat bugs, but homebrew just doesn't have access to that code. FAT32 is so much safer.

I just moved to FAT32 myself, exfat is fucking pain. However I see there's support for splitting NSP and things like that now, so not a big deal I suppose. Also DC GDROMs are 1.2GB (or ~900MB if you use CHD) so no big deal.
The filesystem driver is buggy as hell, I formated my SD card like dozens of times.

Even better than splitting nsps (which I also find to be a PITA) you can do usb installs and save yourself the hassle of splitting. It also saves you the trouble of removing your sd card everytime and resending the payload and then doing it again to delete the nsp from the sd card. Some have had their sd card reader ruined removing it all the time which pretty much means you're screwed without getting it fixed.

I've had this SD card on exFat since the start of the CFW scene. Has never corrupted my SD.

When FMVs start to work, and textures are fixed, Headhunter totally will be -- great. ;)

Yes, everything manual and hex edited. Same process as with Shenmue, roughly. Open the .gdi, hexedit the right file, make it into a .gdi again, then compress it to .chd (in my case). Takes time. :) But is worth it (imho). (Then stretch horizonal resolution to 133% or 134% in the reicast settings. Disable Widescreen hack (because you injected the iso with it).)

Have some coffee and wake up. SkittleDash said Future and you said it was on PC.

I didn't play it very long. Someone after said there were texture issues.

But PC is the future. It always is. Think resolution, gfx and anything else you can think of. PC will achieve it first. And the games pretty much scale up with your upgrades!

I grew up with the Gamecube version. I never knew it was different from the DC versions, and I've been spoiled by BB. I'm actually not sure how confident I'll be playing PSO via Dreamcast anymore.

Reicast in Retroarch lakka lacks cheat support.

Reicast (Alpha) has a "widescreen" option (same as in lakka), that basically is "generic widescreen cheat", but that doesnt work as well - as individual cheats/hex editing games. Because people who found out codes for the individual games, also looked into stuff like clipping fixes, and sometimes moving some GUI elements slightly, to have them centered on screen again.

There is basically a 70 page thread, thats linked in here several times already, that has all that stuff in it already. They started out "cheatcode centric", but eventually moved into hex editing the games themselves. Its basically the same stuff. Instead of ram hacking (cheatcodes), you write the modifications to the .gdi itself.

As Reicast (Alpha) also doesnt have a cheat option, and people havent reporterd codebreaker, or gameshark working (I didnt even try to be honest - both of those where "bootdisks", that sometimes also work in emulators.), hex editing is where its at. :) The 70 page thread with all that stuff in it also kind of turned into that direction. People universally came to think of hexediting existing games as the "best option". (Because it also works on real hardware - and removes steps (like booting gameshark first).

Works great, just takes time. Much less time, than compressing the .gdi's though. If you are reasonably fast navigating on your PC... ;)

I said the same thing, until it happened to me. Don't be ignorant to what literally 100's of developers and users are telling you. But since you now know the risks, I'll let it go.

Over 300 switch mods done on exfat and 0 corruptions. The exfat corruption happens MOSTLY on PC side.
