I have ColdBoot Haxchi, but haven't touched Virtual Wii yet. I've been trying to load Wii VC injects, but I only get black screens. On what appear to be official eShop Wii games (such as Sin & Punishment: Star Successor), I at least get a display on the gamepad, but for injects I made from ISOs (using TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector) for No More Heroes 1 and 2 and Madworld, I get black screens all around. The only option at that point is to to turn it off at the powerpoint to shut down the console. I have everything installed on an external hard drive with a Y cable. Wii U and GBA titles work fine. I also get a black screen from just switching to Wii mode, with just the gamepad displaying. To bring the picture back on my main screen, I need to switch back to the Wii U menu.

For what it's worth I use this gaming monitor with an HDMI cable:

LG - 32GK850G-B 31.5" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor

I also have my PC connected to the monitor via DisplayPort.

Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?

Going by your profile flag, try to inject PAL games instead of USA, Wii injects booting to black screen is because the USA version of the game doesn't support PAL video modes.

Also check the WiiU VC Wii inject compatibility list site HERE. Read the notes sections for each game, it will let you know if there is issues with certain region.

Added Notes:
Forgot to mention, there is quite a few USA region games that have the PAL video modes encoded, these will work fine.

The only thing that is not PAL is No More Heroes (because of the censorship). I can see that I would have to use the European version, which is not ideal so I guess it's back to the original Wii for that. Anyway, I tried the TV and that worked okay, although I wasn't expecting the colours to look so 'faded'. Also, the controls were acting funny for the injects I did myself, although official eShop titles were fine. No More Heroes 2 for instance was acting like the joystick or D-Pad was stuck in the up position.

Iso games or wbfs? I did around 70 wii games ALL wbfs ( from my original Wii HD ) and around 60 GameCube games all using the Injection Tool .. Which really is the best way..

The injections were made from ISOs. Does it really make much of a difference?

There is no difference, by default the injector script will trim/scrub/shrink the ISO for inject, if you use WBFS file, the injector script will convert it back to ISO anyways, there is a handful of games that needs to be 1:1 of the game to work. The WiiU VC Wii inject compatibility list site I provided above will let you know if a game requires to be 1:1, if so, there is an option in the inject script in the Advance Tab => Don't trim game output option.

To date I have injected about 500 Wii games and the info in the WiiU VC Wii inject compatibility list site is mostly edited/added by me.

For games that supports Classic Controller will most likely have GamePad support, if your having issues with the controls, normally doing either of the below will fix the issue or fix the classic controller detection for the GamePad to work:

Classic Controller Resync #1:
In game Classic Controller must be resynced by pressing the Home button on the GamePad and then pressing the Home button again to exit back into the game.

Classic Controller Resync #2:
- Press the HOME button on GamePad to get to the Home Menu.
- Hold POWER button on GamePad until the GamePad turns off, this will only turn off the GamePad not the WiiU console.
- Wait a few seconds, then press the POWER button on the GamePad to turn it back on.
- Press any button on the GamePad a few times to re sync.
- If successful, you will see the hand/finger pointer on the screen which you can move with the left analogue stick.
- Press the HOME button on the GamePad to return to the game.
- GamePad should now emulate the Classic Controller.

The games that I've been having issues with only support the Wiimote and nunchuck as far as I know. I'm pretty sure that I selected the relevant option regarding Wiimote emulation or something before doing the injection.

Resi Evil 4 . Ect ect I changed it so I could use the WIIU gamepad.... I'm not sure why it's not working mate.. Someone will see this & help ..

Well, like I said before, the issue regarding display was solved by connecting to the TV instead. Also, I discovered today that I can get the display to show on my monitor by changing the resolution to 480p in the Wii U system menu. In regards to the control issues with injecting the Wiimote games, maybe I did something incorrectly during the process? Any Wii games acquired through a certain 'helper' of the 'USB' kind works just fine.
