The card is seen in Switch and i can reformat and copy data onto it. In Windows 10, i am unable to see it.

Any idea what I may need to do? I tried changing the drive letters and it cannot be seen. It says this:

Can you right click in disk management can change drive letter and path? Delete existing path and create new one

Sorry i didn't see that 20gb i thought it was 200gb

Maybe you can try
1. diskpart in cmd
2. List disk
3. select the disk of the usb
4. list partition

then report back to see if there is hidden partition

im not sure it being 'fake' is a quick reason for the sdcard not to be detected in windows. :(

It generally would give you problem, for your instance it isn't partition correctly that why it show unallocated space of 20GB, the card might only have 20GB of storage capacity.

Where and how much you paid for it?

It says There are no partitions on this disk to show.

First make sure your micro SD card is not fake. If it's too cheap it's most likely fake and we are just going a round and around

Fully wipe your card by using this through windows cmd

diskpart
list disk
select disk
clean
create partition primary

After that use guiformat

Can't transfer SD card data in either Windows or Linux.

I bought a new microSD card for my Nintendo Switch. I've read lots of instructions including Nintendo's instructions on how to do it. They say to insert the microSD card into a Windows system, copy the data into a folder, and then copy that data into the new microSD card. Simple.

However, neither Windows 10 nor Linux can read the data. When I use fdisk on Linux to see what's going on this is what I get:

Disk /dev/sdc: 1 MiB, 1048576 bytes, 2048 sectors
Disk model: Storage Device
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sdc1 32768 124735487 124702720 59.5G 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT

Neither Windows 10 nor Linux can see /dev/sdc1. Windows 10 asks me if I want to format it. The microSD card was formatted in the Switch. When I format an empty card in the switch, it can't be read by Linux or Windows so I think something is going on with how they format it. Lot's of websites say it's easy, just copy and paste. But that's not what I'm seeing at all. Can someone help?
