@m4xw
Thank for the link !
So, I am on SXOS and they say :
'you currently need the Atmosphère custom firmware to run RetroArch on your Switch.'

So I can't play n64 with Retroarch on SXOS ? :/
PS : sorry I am new on the homebrew switch since 2 month. I try to learn and understand ^^

You will need Atmosphere in the newest version or boot with the newest Hekate to get good performance on N64 emulation.

It's also possible to use Atmosphere and SXOS parallel. Just copy the necessary files on your sd card and push the Atmosphere payload, when you want to play N64.

Your "CFW" does not support what is needed to use mupen to its full potential.

Ok thanks everyone I better understand now ! :)
I have put atmosphere on the sd card, launch from the homebrew (sx os), I can play with everything from it, but not the n64 (switch crash).
Never mind.
Thanks anyway !

How do I get this to work? I already had the NSP installed so updated the core through RetroArch.
I've used m4xw's config files, but cant choose dynamic recompiler. I only have cached_interpreter and pure_interpreter.
Did you get this working?

when I launch the core it just crashes. I already had retroarch so I just grabbed the beta .nro file and placed it in the "core" folder on my switch.

I really want to get the N64 roms working

Thanks for the instructions!

Will there be a version compatible with SX OS ?

Cheers
It’s the other way around - TX have to update SX OS to support JIT. Atmosphere, hekate and ReiNX nightly have all been updated already.

SX OS is not being arbitrarily blocked.

Oh, no I'm using that Mupen, just with the older retroarch

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I just took the info from the latest release and the core is named properly but it runs slower? I'm assuming its using my config because it looks the same its like its at stock clock when it's not

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Wow it kept all my settings so it wasn't graphically glitching but it wasn't set to dynarec anymore

Ok im ready to finally ditch the nsp cos i've messed it up enough it doesnt load after months of it being fine... does the homebrew menu nsp with retroarch nro work or do you have use title redirection?

And if not is there going to be a soluton because redirection doesn't feel like the right way to load it?

You should use title redirection, as described in this guide.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/use-atmosphere-to-access-full-ram-with-homebrews-without-nsp.521240/

You can even use the hbmenu nsp as your title redirection game if you want an icon.
