Damn, OK thanks for confirming.

So is there anything I can do other than order a new card reader to get the card formatted as FAT32?
Since it appears all of the programs fail to format it, try formatting the SD card via the command line. You can look up how to do that on Google. They will be able to better explain how to do it than I can.

If you backup the contents of your SD card before reformatting it, then you won't lose anything. However, if you aren't having any issues, there's no reason to switch to FAT32. Most of us use exFAT.
how do i backup it properly so that i keep my games?

I get my switch with xs os 2.53 and 5.1 a couple days ago. Looking on sd card i see there are except boot.dat and licence two folders: nintendo(save, contents, album) and bootloaders(hekate.ipl.ini). Are they neccesary to be on sd card, last two folders? What are they for?

I have copied my NAND dump over to sd card and then tried to boot into sx os
and its giving me the boot.dat red face dude like theres no sd card or no boot.dat when there is.. im trying to restore my backup to 6.2 as its been updated OFW to 7.0

if someone can help me id really appreciate direction on how to fix this crap

After doing some research of HardwareIDs etc of the readers I have it looks like they don't support cards bigger than 32GB-64GB, so that'll be why I'm getting so many issues.

I've just ordered one from Amazon that should read the 128GB card, and thanks again for the info regarding the Switch update also updating the OFW.

it seems the best way to fix my issue is to boot into my SX OS main boot screen where it shows EMUNAND enabled.

and simply put the sxos/backup folder from my dump on that working bootable config - from there I should be able to get it to restore or load the backup im hoping
i tried to go into the backup part
and then insert a sep sd card where the folder directory its supposed to pull from was but it seems that doesn work
and then when putting the old sd card back in after it didnt work and going back a screen it no longer said emunand enabled. im lucky i didnt corrupt my sd card i guess form this type of behavior I suppose.

in any case Im hoping I have figured out my own issue and will report back should this actually work ill be very impressed and obviously happy!

so far so good it successfully restored boot0 and currently at 12% i think this is amazing IM SOOOOO happy that I did this.. :D

Hey,

I have a short question:

I've installed a cfw and now I wan't to know if its still possible to install updates for my retail games?

If yes, can I update them after starting the cfw?

Some games really need an update to become playable.

And how can I block the switch from automatically download a newer firmware (I'm on 6.2.0 right now)?

Thanks. ,:)

You need to download the corresponding NSP file and install it with your favorite installer (n1dus, tinfoil, goldleaf, etc). Unless you want to connect the console to the internet.

Yes and yes, install them the same way you install non retail games (tinfoil, goldleaf etc)

Setup 90DNS

well it successfully restored the NAND but its not booting its just staying black just like it did before. any suggestions?

for some reason when the emunand is marked as enabled after i have restored my NAND that is at 6.1 apparently i had to disable it then CFW boots up okay and album works good,

however right now im on 6.1 my NAND dump is 6.1 - is there anyway to upgrade to 6.2 without going to 7.0 so I can dump NAND at 6.2? this would be ideal! thanks!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i would actually consider the switch to be bricked at this point. i can boot into 6.1 CFW thru sx os and launch stuf, however I CANNOT boot into OFW without dongle at all.. When I try to hard reset making sure its off or even POWERING off in CFW mode then trying to turn on the switch its as if you hold down right vol button + power WITHOUT the dongle or the jig whichever and it goes into black screen rcm or whatever,

anyone know what ive done, or how to fix this properly?
after restoring the NAND shouldnt the thing function booting up ? or not until it goes back to 7.0 due to fuses

ChoidujourNX to update to 6.2

Also if ti was on 7.0 it burnt fuses and you downgraded of course it won't boot ofw

i think thers some place that hosts the FW files ill have to locate their server again wherever it was. does sx os contrain the choidujoournx thing? or must i source that as well? thanks
