I can only seem to find for the new 3ds on ebay. I used to be able to find really cheap ones from china(I also found the store branded ones to be crap and more expensive) does anyone know where I can find the original 3DS XL crystal cases? like less than $5 like what I was paying for before?

[eBay] Insten Clear Rubber TPU Soft Skin Case+2-LCD Kit Screen Protector for Nintendo 3DS XL
Cheaper still if shipped from Malaysia or Singapore for about CAD $4 if you don't mind the wait.
[eBay] Clear Rubber TPU Soft Gel Game Protective Skin Case Cover for Nintendo 3DS XL @F

If you're looking for the hard clear plastic version, those won't do as well protecting the 3DS in a drop and are more likely to crack at the hinges. Personally, you're better of getting a zippered hard case for travel if you intend to remove the o3DSXL out of its skin when playing.

I had rubber ones in the past for my original DS and they were crap. I just want something that will make me feel more comfortable and at ease when holding my portables(I have a crystal case for my vita to) but they do wear out after about a year or so and i'm just looking to spend a few dollars not a bunch of money on a case.

This is about as cheap you'll find this product other than from aliexpress. You might want to buy several as you never know how what's in store for the China-USA trade wars upsetting the supply chain of cheap goods in the future.

Ok thanks i'll definitely keep this one in mind: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Clear-Rubb...Case-Cover-for-Nintendo-3DS-XL-F/264080411159 seems like it might be better than the hard plastic type ones iv'e been getting. I just remember having a rubber one years ago but it was some crappy target brand that glowed in the dark lol and wasn't very useful at all. But i'll try this.

The only problem of these cases is the corner where it slide to fold. It ends up breaking after a while. But I really like these cases. I have one for my old 3ds xl and it's amazing how it gives you a better grip.

Do you mean the case? I got it from AliExpress, the pink part is metal and the black is plastic.

Do you have a link for that specific one? i'm not talking like a travel case like an actual case that goes around the 3DS to protect it.

Here is the place where I bought it:

https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/hqNACrf

I have two of them and I strongly recommend for the price and usability.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
