Given that we can barely run Wii U games properly, not likely. Maybe Wii games in a couple of years like around the end of life for the Switch.
Should be as long as you have fs_mitm.kip enabled.
Well if you stay offline, you've kinda banned yourself in a way. Yes its a temporary ban that you can lift at any moment but updating your firmware offline with ChoiDujourNX doesn't make it safe for you to return back online. If you stay offline the entire time, then its alright as long as you restore the clean NAND prior to going online. But after that, not only will you have to make another clean NAND backup since you can't restore the same NAND twice (for banning purposes), there aren't that many options for updating without burning fuses. Best you can do is a reboot to RCM by inserting your jig and holding volume + after your console restarts when its finished installing the system update but the success rate of that depends on your jig. And if you do burn fuses, you have to make a new NAND backup anyways since the firmware of your previous NAND backup won't line up with the new fuse count.

Why on Earth would you want to factory reset your Switch?
If your Joy-Con is modded to bridge pins 9 & 10 together, it is not safe to update. If your Joy-Con isn't modded, then it is safe. By the way, the update comes from the firmware, not from the Internet.

Yes but they are not publicly available for good reason.

Just drag and drop everything from one SD card to another. The files aren't tied to the SD card :P

Oks. I'm using autorcm even before using ChoiDujourNX. So basically what i need to do is update trought ChoiDujourNX because restauring the nand backup will be a pain in the ass.

Hi! I accidently came across the R4S dongle and am wondering what exactly it is used for.

Is it for modding my Switch?

Or Is it just for loading homebrew games, so will I have to use it each time I want to run a homebrew game and the Switch remains unmodified?

Is it possible to backup my game saves using R4S?

Any link to noob/beginners Guide are mich appreciated.

So I pushed the Hekate payload on my switch and tried to launch Atmosphere by following this tutorial, but when I try to do it there's a message in yellow saying "No main configurations found...". So I went to Tools > Unset archive bit (all sd files)' but that option to unset archive doesn't appear (there are 2 to fix archive bit, I don't know if it's that, but I also tried them).
Is it a SD card problem? I've never had any problem with it before :(
Did you put Kosmos on your SD card?

Fusee Gelee is the current exploit all CFW and hardmods for the Switch utilize. Once the console is in RCM, you send a payload either through your computer, phone, or modchip/dongle. The R4S basically only replicates the sending payload step. You would still need to enter RCM with a jig or anything else conductive and download a CFW to place on the SD card. Their website has their own instructions on how you use their product as well as combine it with any CFW.

Could you tell me which one? So I can stay away from them.
With kind regards
The problem is most of them were disguised as normal files you would download. For example, before Let's Go Pikachu and Smash were leaked/released, there were brick copies floating around with their names on them that, once launched, would brick the system. Now that the games have been officially released, most reliable warez sources will have the actual games. There was also a supposed SX OS crack that would brick your Switch known as PozzNX so if you see anything like that, you should stay away. As long as you have a complete NAND backup, meaning boot0/boot1 and eMMC raw GPP (rawnand), then you'll be able to recover from 99% of all bricks.
How can i get to hekate after entering atmosphère?
You can't, you have to resend Hekate as a payload.

Yes.

Don't know how small they can get nor if they can necessarily reach that size but you can compress the rawnand. How much you can compress it depends on how much you have in the NAND when it was dumped; obviously the more stuff, the larger it will be when compressed. I doubt it will get as small as 1 GB since the NAND at the very least would be comprised of an empty USER partition and a 2.7 GB SYS partition but who knows, maybe there's some magic compression combination that can get it that tiny.

I bought a Switch a long time ago with the intention to hack it and use it for emulators. I waited to do anything with it because of the ritual you need to go through to run HB (jigs, payloads, tethering etc). It just isn't worth the time to do all of that to get started every time I want to play something. I am more of the "turn it on and go" type. My question is will there ever be a permanent hack like the PSP or Vita when you "jailbreak " it once you are done and never have to mess with a jig or tether again? I was wondering because if it will always be like this I will just sell the Switch and move on to something more convenient to use. Thanks.

by the time now, i think there is no method to have a permanent cfw in the console. What i use to avoid jig is autoRCM but if i turn off the swtich i need to inject a payload or it will be in black screen (RCM)

Is the newest version of reinx capable of using layerdfs to use mods? Really want to undub puypuyo tetris and use mods in binding of isaac. But I love my reinx.
To add on to drax's answer the new version of reinx for 6.2 support requires layered_fs (fs_mitm.kip) to work properly, so yes mods do work in reinx :)

Use 90dns then use the kosmos updater, then use choidujourNX to update the firmware

Help ! the sxos giving me a black screen when i try to load the CFW is it because i dont have the exfat update ?
use fat32 to use choidujourNX to update to an exfat version of the firmware

Hi everyone ! I would like to do a complete update of my cracked Switch (FW : 6.1 // SXOS : 2.0.1) which means :

  1. Update my firmware to 6.2
  2. Update SXOS to the 2.5 version
  3. Create an SDemunand

So... To do a proper SD emunand, how should i do it ? Do i have to do a full backup of my actual SD card on my PC and then :

  1. Delete everything on MicroSD
  2. Put back my clean NANDs backup on my SD
  3. Restore Nand Backup on my Nintendo Switch using Hektake
  4. Setup SDEmuNand via SXOS
  5. Put my previous files on my PC in my MicroSD card
Looks ok to you ?
