Ever since the domain name for "P5R" was registered by Atlus in early 2017, rumors have been floating around, talking about a potential definitive edition of Persona 5. On December 30th, Atlus stole fans' hearts when they gave an incredibly vague trailer for Persona 5R. All that's known at this time is that Persona 5R is real, and that a full reveal will happen in March 2019.

We did eventually get Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS though.
A new Duck Hunt for the Wii (like Punch-Out) or Wii U was a missed opportunity, seeing as the Wii Remote and Gamepad could have replaced the NES Zapper easily (this was already done in the Wii VC release). Game & Watch has had plenty of remakes (Game & Watch Gallery series), though there hasn't been a new one since the GBA.

I imagine the 'R' stands for Red/Rouge (no, not rogue)? Similar to P4G.

I'm not entirely sure at this point. Persona 3 FES stood for Festival, while Persona 4 Golden was actually for Golden Week (despite it actually fitting into the game's yellow color scheme). Is there some kind of holiday or activity that fits into the 'R' and matches the game's theme?

Anyway, I haven't seen the whole game, but I wonder if they are going to introduce another playable/main character.

I don't understand why anyone is talking mobile when the video has a PlayStation stinger at the beginning. While it's fair to think this could be an expanded and potentially tightened up version of P5, I would not assume it just yet given all the spin-offs of Persona 3/4/5 thus far.

Crash Team Racing was revealed at the Game Awards, complete with the PS logo at the start, and PS4 listed at the end. Same footage was uploaded to the Playstation Youtube channel. But, we all found out later that it would come to other platforms as well, not just those by Sony.

Sony may be taking the center stage for P5R (much like CTR), but not necessarily for exclusiveness.

You pretty much avoid my point to make a different one. It would be very unlikely for this to be a PlayStation 4 title and also a mobile title. It is still very possible for this to be a PlayStation 4 as well as announced for Xbox or Switch.

what happened to Akechi, it hinted that he died but it was never stated explicitly stated so I just think they're going to show the events that happened after he escaped the standoff with the metaverse version of himself and show him having a happy ending maybe

That's better and more straight to the point than what I had in mind after I made that post, which for some reason was Renaissance. The ones I've heard pretty much everywhere are Remix and Redux, which are still possible seeing as P3P was literally Persona 3 Portable. Nah, I wouldn't put it past them to pick a stupid/ridiculous title in the end after I saw the ones for the anime specials:

• Dark Sun... (Yes, those are part of the actual title)
• Stars and Ours (March 2019)

The P5S website link could still very well be a Switch port. And knowing Atlus' track record so far (with Joker in Ultimate) I don't see why having P5 on the Switch would be bad. Especially when the PS3 has it, not to mention actually still playable on that hardware.

And I think the ones that need a new remake the most are Persona 1 and the Persona 2 duology, but P3 is ok too
