That just means you're not CDN banned but soft banned. The only difference between a CDN ban and a normal ban is that CDN bans prevent system updates but it seems that Nintendo has converted all CDN bans back to normal bans.

So what does this mean exactly? Can the previously banned switch now access eShop but not online play?

No, both CDN bans and normal bans limit eShop access, online play, and as of firmware 6.0 game updates. Reversing CDN bans just means previously banned consoles can now make system updates but still can't do everything else I listed previously.

Additional Comments
Can't resist myself to not connect online never anymore, so deleted all the cfw on my sd, formated it and formated my switch like 3 times through "format data" and "recovery mode" to be sure there won't be any error logs, so yes if anyone is wondering, fomating your switch and sd card won't help you from the ban and this was insta ban, now that i know that i'm banned i can fuck off myself with the online and play offline forever. :)

I Will Update this to say that I'm not banned yet, i saw an error when i tried to get in to the Eshop but maybe it wasnt the ban error, my system got Updated, while i leave it in the dock and tried to get in the Eshop and i still can, dunno how long it takes to be banned but from the day i posted I'm not banned.

Possibly but if you're going to be waiting on a "ban-prevention" method, you may be left waiting until the Switch's EOL. There is nothing better than dumping and restoring a clean NAND.
I don't think it could be any safer than the new emunand. Unless Nintendo does something sneaky to get around stealth mode (unlikely), we should be perfectly safe.

It looks like you use creport so it does help to prevent or delay the ban, I guess so.

Did you use airplane mode?

I saw other's posts about creport + offline (delete the WiFi setting or airplane mode with no dock) + homebrew are very likely to prevent the ban, unless you hack the save to play online like Splatoon 2, so it can be prevented if you disable the internet and go full offline for this game.

If it wasn't creport, it would be telemetry flagging your Switch and alert Nintendo.

Is only using homebrew/cfw stuff on perma-offline emunand functionally identical to the dump nand -> cfw -> restore clean nand method mentioned in the OP?

Hey folks. Is it possible to hack the Switch, edit a save, upload it to Nintendo Cloud Save Backup, unhack it (restore NAND), reset the console, download the save and keep the save and play online etc without ban? I am not looking for cheats, I just want to have my BOTW Wii U save on my Switch

Unless Nintendo has a list of every video game reviewers Nintendo Accounts and Users, just because the initial play time started before the release data doesn't mean you'll get banned. I should also mention that stores also breaking street date which isn't necessarily a violation of the Terms of Service...I think.

I guess you were around during the Pokemon Sun & Moon launch then. People who went online with the games before its release date were banned, but reviewers weren't. But if it's only a couple days early you're playing it then sure.

yes i use creport with rajnx and atmosphere, i dunno if reinx have it but i never got an error on reinx while i was on that cfw and yes i used airplane mode, no nnid asociated, no wifi added, i formated before hacking, and before going online again i perform an system format and "recovery" format, maybe both are the same and when i though i was banned i didn't hack it yet, just leave it in the dock while i was doing other personals things these days till yesterday that i saw that my console was update so i get into the eshop and it logged normaly, now i'm lucky or nintendo just flagged me for the next ban wave.

On 6.1, made a clean nand backup, went into homebrew once to dump keys as mentioned in the backup thread. I made an emunand in SX OS so I haven't run anything else on my sysnand. Do I need to restore nand after running that one homebrew before updating to 6.2 when it becomes available? Way in the past I ran Checkpoint homebrew once on sysnand and I never got banned for it.

Do you need to? Probably no, but it would be a good idea, just to be "safe". I mean, you dont want to get banned down the line and think it was because of that. It would take an hour at most, so why not.

I popped back into ofw after but I don't think it connected online since I'm not the proper FW. Well, I guess I'll restore the nand. Seems like I'll have to reformat my SD card though since mine is on fat32

Additional Comments

I've been using SX OS since FW 5.1, using SX OS 1.3. I'm using SX OS 2.0 now on FW 6.0. I updated a lot of my games throughout the last few months, and still no ban. Always remove WiFi settings and turn on airplane mode before going in SX OS.
Just my monthly two cents that I'm still not banned. I'm on 6.2 OFW now, and 6.1 CFW (SD Emunand on SX OS 2.3).

Effectively, its the same thing since you are keeping a hacked and an unhacked NAND separated.

I'm pretty sure by the time you upload a hacked save, you are flagging yourself for a ban.
Do you still get notifications when you're banned?
You mean like news or system updates? Because people have been reporting still receiving system updates (which is expected if you're not CDN banned) as well as new news.

Yup. Had a Gateway since day 1. I converted them to .3dz files as well but obviously never went online with them. Have no idea how I didn't get banned for pirating so many games online though. The 3DS banwaves were really random.
