If you transfer the hacked save file to the other console, you're going to risk getting that console banned as well. If you remove or have already removed the save file, the system transfer should be safe (not sure if a system transfer also transfers any erroneous error logs stored on the console).

Pretty much. You can always recover the USER partition by performing a system initialize.

Ok good. Last question: what about biskey (and other keys)? Can I extract them from my dump in case of brick? Or should I dump them just now?
Many many thanks

Ok. But if I backed up the save file via checkpoint, would nintendo ban me if I inject that save file again? Because Splatoon 2 has no cloud online backup, and Nintendo remembers your data on that game. And since I would be system resetting it, wouldn't injecting the save file again be the same to Nintendo as I would have the same weapons and stuff again even though they wouldn't know I system reset it?
Given that people have been banned for using a save manager on Splatoon without even modifying the save file, I would say it is detectable.

As far as I know, these keys are hardcoded into the system so unless the system becomes physically compromised, these should be retrievable no matter what.

Ok, thanks for saying that! I think I won't system restart my switch, because I don't my friend being banned because of me. I don't think they will ban me, but there's always a chance. It's been almost 5 months since I edited the Splatoon save file, and about 2 1/2 months since I've run CFW or LayeredFS. I think I'll be ok since I still can enter the eshop and are able to play online, so I think I will make a NAND backup of my current status of my switch, and do what I said in the comment above. So you wouldn't need a NAND backup after playing LayeredFS, correct? Because you'd want all your savedata to be there right after playing online and stuff. Or am I wrong on this as well? I'll do what you told me to do, and make a NAND backup before and after playing with CFW, so Nintendo will see that I really haven't done anything else. But I am a little nervous, though. So if I load back to the NAND backup after doing CFW and making a NAND backup of the CFW NAND, will I be ok? Thanks for all your help so far man! I think I'll be fine in the long run, since Nintendo hasn't banned me yet. But anything's possible.

I'm trying to launch ChoidujourNX from the homebrew menu so I can manually update to 5.1.0 without burning fuses but I just get a white screen twice and it boots me back to the homebrew launcher. A little help?

Can my switch be bricked by booting into rcm mode or connectung he wrong pins?
That would be connecting pins 4 to pins 10. Also, the console automatically enters RCM if its bricked which is how AutoRCM works.

Which CFW are you using?

Nope. I copied all the files (except the backup I made earlier) from my 256gb exFAT to a 32gb FAT32 card though.
I've got another weird suggestion. Try using SX OS. The free version can load homebrew, you just have to hold R when you press the Album to bring up the Homebrew menu. Download 2.0.1 from https://sx.xecuter.com/

I really don't want to use SXOS at all. I'm gonna wipe my SD card and try everything over again.

Still no luck... I copied the files from the "sd" folder of the .zip I downloaded from sdfiles.com. It includes everything but RetroArch (because it won't download). When I boot into Hekate and go to Launch, there is only one option for CFW and it just says "CFW". Shouldn't it say atmosphere somewhere?

Don't know why but they label "Atmosphere" as "CFW".

When I boot it up should I get an Atmosphere splash screen? I don't but then I can get into the hbl so it must be working... Choidujour still not loading though. Ugh
Did you enable debug mode? If not, to enable debug mode, add debugmode=1 to the hekate_ipl.ini under the Launch Configuration you want to use.
