Sony's warm up to this year's Tokyo Game Show today was surely filled with nice surprises and among them was the announcement of a brand-new title in the Samurai Showdown series. Known as Samurai Spirits in Japan, it has been ten years since a proper sequel to the fighting game franchise has been released. Things are about to change as the next entry titled simply as Samurai Spirits is set to launch for the PS4 in 2019. Here's a teaser trailer to feast your eyes on in the meantime:

We should thank to chinese company which bought SNK, without them we would never ever see another new Samurai shodown.

Guys, it's called Samurai Spirits. Like in the trailer? :creep:

Nice game but not interested. Everytime I play one of these games, I can never win against that one guy who takes like %25 of your life with one slash attack. Made me think it's not a game of combos like other SNK games, just.... one hit damaging moves and who can land them first. :blinkL

Also it's technically the 2nd game in the timeline, so it's a sequel to V/Zero, while more of a prequel to everything else.

Quoting myself from the user-submitted thread, but I figure it's relevant here:

Looks promising, I'm liking the game's style. It seems that SNK has improved a bit in the 3D Visuals department since KOF XIV, though the fact that the game uses UE4 is a bit concerning, especially considering the problems SFV had with input lag using the engine. I wonder what measures, if any, SNK will take to address this.

New samsho!? If SNK can do this, Capcom can do another Rival Schools. Who cares if people even remember/know about the game, the number of weeaboos have grown exponentially since that game came out. That business would kill in today's market.
