Hey there, new here, my name is Anthony. Anyway, I just hacked my Wii U (following this guide )... After getting Haxchi installed and clicking it, I expected it to bring me to where I could get the homebrew channel, but that didn't happen... Whenever I try to access the Haxchi channel, the loader screen coming up, the screen goes black for a few seconds, and then it sends it back to the main Wiiu menu. I'm not sure what's wrong.
When I hold the A button Haxchi loads and locks to a black screen, with - 3 in the upper corner, and the wiiu menu music playing in the background.

I made sure the config.txt was changed to redirect to the homebrew file, used an appreciate DS game for the exploit, and made sure that my console was on the latest firmware.

Please help! I couldn't find much info on this issue online :(

Can you post what your config file says?
Sounds like the path you have A set to doesn't exist

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And by default Haxchi will send you back to the main screen, just with sigpatches on

Thanks for the reply...
At first I did:

default=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
a=fw.img

Then when that didn't work, I read somewhere to try:
default=sd:/wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
a=fw.img

Neither of them worked :/

This is the default config you should have.
a=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf

default=sysmenu

Adran_Marit, I think so. I have it set as wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf

I just went based on that tutorial

Adran_Marit, I did tried to set that to A, but anytime I hold the A button, it just sends me to a blank screen with a -3 in the top left corner...

Milenko, I just did. It looks correct to me...

Adran_Marit, yes, my haxchi folder and wiiu folder are in the root. Is that correct?

Milenko, I haven't tried that yet. I wasn't sure if I could start over without bricking my wiiu. What's the safest way to go about this?

Adran_Marit, offhand, could you suggest a video tutorial or do you mean in a thread? I'm a visual learner, so I work well with best tutorials

Adran_Marit, ok I'll check it out and give it a shot - thank you so much for your help! ^ ^

Technic master, it's a brand new SD. Do you think the size could be the problem? It's a 32gb SanDisk.

I think I have a 4gb somewhere...

Are you doing cold boot haxchi? If not you can reinstall it back over itself

it's just weird it wouldn't load HB if the path was defaulted to it

what happened when you had it as
default=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf
If you just changed the config from default as sysmenu without reinstalling haxchi then it will be still the old config so that would be why it's going to sysmenu

Milenko, when homebrew was the default, it would load up the Haxchi loader screen and fade to black for a few seconds and then reload the wiiu menu.

I actually never installed CBHC, since the tutorial never included it. Do you think having not installing it could be creating the issue?

So basically to reinstall over Haxchi, do I essentially delete and reinstall the DS game I used for the exploit and reformat my SD, so I can start fresh, or do I just leave the exploited DS game on my hard drive and treat it as though it were still fresh?

Try booting the homebrew launcher from browser and post the results. If it's the SD card you should get problems too. And you can just use the haxchi installer over the same DS title without uninstalling anything by the way, you need to do that in order to apply the changes to config.

pffff.....there goes another wiiu...... brick alert.
Do NOT install CBHC if you don't even have haxchi working......... it only makes it worse.

and what do you write.... exploited game on your harddrive? It should be on internal NAND.....

edit: According to installer you have to delete the game and start over again and be sure to remove your harddisk when getting it from the e-shop (so it will be on your NAND)

Then use browser exploit and install haxchi again...

btw.I watched the video and starting haxchi with the proposed config does exactly what it says..... just starting it will put your console in sysmenu (with signature patches active).
Why it doesn't work when pressing A ??? I don't know.

Wait, you installed haxchi on a game on HDD? And you're thinking of CHBC? Holy shit man, READ THE STICKIES! Then come back, but you won't need to.

Also this should be on Hacking section, the stickies are there.

bodefuceta, me?? I didn't install haxchi to the harddrive. I was saying that I couldn't trigger the exploit when the DS game was on my external hard drive, so I had to move the DS game onto my Wii U hard drive in order for loadiine.chv to recognize it. Was I not supposed to do that?

Sorry that I put the message in the wrong place. I'm new to the group and I just thought that the whole forum in general was for hacking, so I didn't think to look for a specific subforum.

lafleche, I'm new to doing this and I wasn't thinking of installing CBHC, I was merely asking if I should, because I really don't know much about what it does. I'm still learning, mostly based off of video tutorials :/

okay Start from square one, but this time install the game directly form the eshop to the nand before doing any of the haxchi stuff

I've slept now so I'm alot more alert to whats going on :)
