I am sorry if this has been asked, for anyone who got superbanned, how are we gonna update system firmware? I am sure games in the near future will certainly require a new firmware which Nintendo will push out.

Is there something like a SystemUpdate.nsp?

does anybody here know the on golden rule for cfw or any hacks? "DON'T GO ONLINE!!!" if you can't get that, you're so stupid.

Do you feel better now after saying that? I hope so, because the grownups are talking here. If you have nothing to add to this thread other then insulting people, you shouldn't be posting in here.

and we GROWNUPS wouldn't do that stupidity. goin online in a hacked unit.

So, I have a third switch:

- Never used any homebrew
- Never installed any .NSP files
- Only used .XCI with SX Pro

still this unit got superbanned, no updates possible anymore.

Why? I thought they would only superban you, if you update .nsp games you dont own etc.?

You should probably complete the form.

As I said earlier, homebrews are actually safe for now. Backups loading isn't tho, if you play online.

Do it manually with ChoiDujour, or boot a xci of a game that brings a mandatory update with it and update with that.

While I admit a superban is a dick move to make, we are downloading games we didn't pay for. Take some personal responsibility. And be glad you are in the EU where it appears doing what they did was illegal so you will probably get it reversed.

It isn't illegal in the EU. It doesn't even fall under GDPR as it has nothing to do with your 'personal' information. It is device access to a server with stolen/misused goods that gets you banned, the GDPR does not protect you from this on private servers. It protects you from private servers harvesting and selling/using your personal data.

In fact the EA release from an EU user requesting their personal info had this nugget in it:
"We have also withheld data impacting the security and integrity of EA products and services, data that, if disclosed, would affect the rights and freedoms of others, including EA, and any other EA or third-party trade secret."

Anything impacting Nintendo's security and breaking the law (piracy) is not protected under GDPR. Your spending habits, how much you spend per genre, etc, much as on the EA report is what GDPR protects and even what Nintendo already allows for opt-out.

I've installed NSP but restored the clean NAND afterwards before using the OFW, because I didn't know about the higher risk using NSP. Currently I'm just using XCI and no NSP anymore.
I'm using seperate mSDXC for CFW and OFW and a seperate user account for playing XCI games (not connected with a Nintendo account).

All fine so far.

If you update the backups through CFW, doesn't that mean that you connected to the Internet with SX OS?

Yes, sir! My fault. I've corrected that.
Weird, just checked and it seems I entered it on the spreadsheet as Yes. Sometimes even I scare myself.

Trust me, you need to hit them hard. With GDPR threats they should be extremely afraid.

If there is one thing that people know about the GDPR it's that GDPR fines(administrative fines) can go up to 20 million Euros or 4 percent of annual global (note global!) turnover, whichever of both is highest.

You think Nintendo is going to risk 4% of their 'annual' global turnover over a banned account?
Smart way for ninty to handle this would be to delete the console cert data on their end to ban the console
