Slim ps4 500gb are under 5.07 not ps4 pros, those are probably all gone now.

Thanks for the clarification. I see PS4 slim 500GB online at Walmart.ca for $350. Not bad but not amazing. Can't be too picky I guess.

It doesn't matter anyhow I think. All reading I have done indicates that 500GB slim were out of production pre -5.05

They won't release it now so more games are playable when they do eventually release it, it's not rocket science.

This literally makes zero sense. There are nowhere near enough stability issues to warrant the "CONVENIENT" timing of zero releases at all until a new firmware is required for anything worth having. And believe me, this isnt how things usually happen. Been around since the PSP days and it was never as quiet as this scene, except for XBOX ONE scene as it seems everyone is happy there just to run Dev Mode.

If stability WAS the reason for delays, that's an acceptable reason. Given the amount of people running current fw kexploits with ZERO issues means this isn't the case. Hardly anyone ever posts any updates for "Stability" updates. Must think this is a thread about 3DS OFW updates.

Its all about ego in this scene. When you read quotes likes this " Since 5.05 and 5.07 can easily be obtained I see no reason to release a 5.55 exploit to burn chains" you can't help but think its personal value at this point.

I'd sorta disagree with this statement, there are many parts of the world that they are not easily, or reasonably obtainable, in the states $350 for a 500gb system is not very reasonable, and are really only available online, by this winter they will likely be all but gone.

However, besides Become Human, there won't really be anything worth getting new until this fall anyway, and by then 6.0 should be out for a while, so a winter/spring release does make the most sense.

What are you on about, I know it is already available, but there is no reason to release it right now, except to get it patched quicker, and a lot of people banned, better to wait until its actually useful for new games.

And the kexploit is more than likely patched in 6.0 because even though they claim not to, these developers report their findings to SONY for their bounty program. The only thing besides ego I can see as a reason is SONY as per their bounty contract may have a nondisclosure clause in order to get paid.

I withdraw the strawmanning statement as I read HIS post wrong. I was reading yours as there would be more exploits if more devs could buy consoles.. I though he was talking about the kexploit and not a console itself. My bad. I can admit when I'm wrong.

And while it may be speculation, it is a very good possibility that I was only presenting as an alternative reasoning to keeping things private. I would actually blame devs less for bounties as I really wouldnt blame then for wanting to get rewarded for finding the vulnerabilities.

Furthermore anyone who mods their consoles without accepting the risk of a ban really deserves zero sympathy when they complain. This has been a calculated risk since day one. If everyone in the world withheld things because stupid people could get in trouble, then the world would be very very boring and empty. I just dont see this as an acceptable excuse.

I didn't say that it's a quote from "Mathieu" himself and he doesn't care if we struggle to get our hands on hack-able consoles. The only thing he will say is "I told you not update" I'm sure most of us know a release wont make any sense now, we just want
official updates of a release in the near future. As I said on the 1st page all we can do is speculate riding on a ghost hype train, I'm still going to buy a 5.05 console b/c this scene does things unannounced aside from the teasing
