The same one shown here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/fusee-lede-dongle-6-payload-injector.508750/page-5#post-8119274

@Wierd_w I have the same issue as the person I linked to above! The USB is not working properly!

Code:
[ 490.181664] usb usb2-port1: attempt power cycle
[ 490.681515] usb 2-1: new full-speed USB device number 24 using ohci-platform
[ 491.111591] usb 2-1: device not accepting address 24, error -62
[ 491.301497] usb 2-1: new full-speed USB device number 25 using ohci-platform
[ 491.731501] usb 2-1: device not accepting address 25, error -62
[ 491.743721] usb usb2-port1: unable to enumerate USB device

ohci is usb 1.1

Is this a thumbdrive you are inserting? If so.... How old is it?

Is there a way to force it to use a newer standard's module?

I dont think so. More than likely, your cable is the culprit. It is likely attempting a USB3 handshake, and when it cant get it, falls back too far to USB1.1, which cannot serve the exploit/talk with the switch.

Do you have a different USB to USBC cable to try?

(Or even, verify that the port is working correctly at all, with a different USB device, like a thumb drive?)

Every device throws the same error. :(

Defective USB port on the device?

Would you mind taking a picture of the device's motherboard, both side please? Emphasis around the solder joints on the USB port.

what were you using to run a payload on your switch before this?
My home server running Debian, through a USB 3.0 port.

Doubt it's "defective" in that it isn't working as designed, given the other person with the same device is having the same issue. Sure:

uboot comes preinstalled from factory

it's like the bios from your pc

without it, your device would be bricked by default

The stock uboot might be missing options though.

in this case, I suspect poor solder joints on the data pins of the USB port.

Edit-- sees pic

SHIT! Those joints look really dry! (Not enough solder flowed through/ cheap ass factory piped out too little paste in manufacture!)

I would get some silver electronics solder, and reflow those 4 leads going to the USB port on the side with the pin "tails" sticking up, then try again.

For reference, here is the openwrt reference image (which looks like the same model you have!)-- see how the joint's solder contact overlaps the ring of the through hole?

I will bet money that you have bad continuity across those joints, and this is too noisy to drive at the high switching speeds of USB2 or 3. Gently flow additional solder to the joints, and get back to us.

Yes?
https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/nslu2

You will need to do some leg work to get the fusee-lede injector program compiled into an older openwrt (newer versions no longer support due to small ram/flash size), but it looks doable. But.. why? It lacks a battery.
because it's old and it would be funny xD but you can run it off 5v so...

Welp, guess this was a complete waste of $15. I guess I'll purchase some RCM injector dongle whenever clones exist that don't suck.

Oh hell no. Those joints just need a little solder on them. You can get it at all kinds of places. Those are nice, big through-hole solder points. It's like a 5 second fix.

And more money than I wanted to spend on the project, right... Maybe I'll delve into this again eventually, but for now I'm just going to sulk and try not to kill myself.

If you decide you dont want it after this / dont want to do the quick and easy solder reflow-- Hang on to it, and when somebody asks for an injector, offer a deal over paypal, and mention that the joints need reflowed, and that's it. You will probably get a taker.

This is really disheartening to read. It's just total potluck that many of us managed to even get a fully working device out of the box. Kind of puts a damper on the whole idea.

No! As I wrote here:

fusee-lede-dongle-6-payload-injector.508750/page-6#post-8127678 (I am still not allowed to post links)

Finally the injection will work! Just go ahead to the final firmware. You seem to have the same device as I got.

Best
