I have it charged up with the green light, latest boot.dat file on SD card (even redownloaded it to make sure it wasn't corrupted). Nothing is getting the dongle to push the payload. I know it's getting into RCM correctly because I was able to boot SX OS unactivated with TegraRCMgui. Tried booting it both with the dongle in on power, and tried putting it in after powering up, neither did anything. I've emailed both ModChipsDirect and Team Xecuter about this issue, but wanted to post here to see if anyone else has run into this issue and/or has come up with a solution.

EDIT: For those wondering, I've since managed to get a replacement from ModChipsDirect that luckily has worked as expected for the last week or so. Get in touch with your reseller if you're having the same issues I had. It's most likely caused by bad capacitors.

I have the same problem. I tried to charge the dongle for about 10 minutes. It seems that the dongle cant hold any charge.

what i found was holding just the + button and power didnt really work for me, i just held the button of -/+ and power and worked, as i had similar issues of black screen

Ensure your sd card is formatted as extra or fat32, and leave in only boot.dat at the root of the sd card, and remove every other files/folder, there might have been a "Nintendo" folder created by the system) and try again.

Tried both of your suggestions and neither did anything. I seriously doubt my SD card is the issue as it works just fine when loading the payload through TegraRCM, but just in case I even tried a seperate SD with nothing but boot.dat on it and it still did nothing.

Same, i got my sx pro set in the mail today.
the dongle loses the charge after a few minutes without use, and if I want to use it to boot sx os the dongle is dead and does not have enough juice to send the payload until I connect it to a power source the dongle turns yellow for a moment and then turns green after a few seconds and I can only use it one more time to send payload. after that, the dongle is empty again. in the Q & A they talk about a standby of at least 1 week for 1 boot, or for 5 boots, i think i got a broken dongle? I emailed them about my problem but no response from team xecuter. and when i put my ear on the dongle when it is on charge, the super capacitors makes real strange nose anyone have same sound on charge???

I emailed TX and got an obvious copy + paste response that made it clear they literally couldn't even be bothered to read my email. Seriously starting to regret this purchase if this is the level of professionalism I can expect from them.

This is quite intriguing... Maybe a batch of pro dongles could be defective? Did all of you guys order from ModChipsDirect?

I'm about to receive mine, ordered from 3ds-FlashCard, but these stories makes me feel a bit pessimistic about the pro dongle that I'm going to get.

There has to be defective dongles.. try to send the payload from your pc to test that your port is not the problem

Sucks to hear that mate, looks like there might be defective dongles..as expected. Try contacting the guys you got it from and explain the situation, you might get a replacement.

I got my dongle yesterday and booted a few times, it works exactly as intended... As far as I can tell. No boot failed. But it was from shop01media.

There are gonna be a small percentage with dead caps, it's just how it goes unfortunately.

I'm waiting to see someone open it up and take some hires pics. I assume it wouldn't be too hard to replace the caps.

I ordered the SX Pro first batch from MCD and it came defective. No LED at all and does not send payload. Can connect it to a PC and recognize the chip via serial port but does not "charge" or light up. It does get pretty hot though and seems to know when to stop taking a charge..

Emailed MCD and they claim it's not their fault and I should email TX first.. still waiting for a response from them.

my dongle makes sound whenever i connect it to the switch, but not when i charge it with micro usb.
dongle seems to be holding up charge and no problem with booting.

Chink-shits xD

Based on what I've read my assumption is the capacitors in my dongle are defective and won't charge, which is most likely the reason it isn't working. I don't hear any sounds like most people hear that have a working one.
