Lakka is a Linux distribution aimed at turning small computer devices into retrogaming consoles. It is a minimal operating system using RetroArch as a front-end - it contains nothing more, nothing less than what's required for RetroArch and its 100+ supported consoles and standalone games.

And guess what - it runs on the Switch too, using the magic of ShofEL2 ! Prepare your SD card, boot the system and you're ready to go !

You can find everything needed on this website : https://lakka-switch.github.io/documentation/

I suggest you read the FAQ as it already covers common issues and questions. The official Lakka documentation can also help.

The system is not perfect yet, some issues are still present (battery desync, no audio, wifi only working after a reboot...). However, it is playable and I feel like it's ready for a (first) release. If you want to contribute, don't hesitate to make a PR or message me directly !

Enjoy ;)
There is a y before the pic;)

Obviously not great enough for causing battery desyncs and other issues. I'd rather wait till those can be avoided.
the battery desync isn't a linux issue it's a horizon issue because nintendo have done something odd for reading the battery percentage i might be wrong but i think it saves a value for the battery somewhere when you turn it off so running linux and draining some battery then going into horizon will show false battery levels

Hardly sounds worth the risk IMO.

Shame on you for releasing this, now I’m hella tempted lol.

Nah thanks for this though.

The battery issue is killing me cause I don’t wanna deal with that, I can live with no audio right now. I’m just really tempted to dive in now. I feel like I seen a fix method for the battery but that involves opening the back part of the switch and disconnecting it right?

I sorted it before by disconnecting the battery and holding the power button to discharge the switch

Exactly how I feel. Audio isn't a biggy but I can't even fix my battery as I've stripped my screws trying to take off the back with a terrible quality tri-wing lol
