The major PlayStation Portable emulator, PPSSPP has been updated to a new version: 1.6. This update brings better performance for both the Vulkan and OpenGL backends, allowing for better compatibility and speed in multi core devices. Bugfixes for iOS and Android versions have implemented as well. Retroarch support has been added, along with Vulkan support for the Linux version. All platform versions have received the update, but the Android one is still being tested for bugs and will be updated throughout the week.

I didn't bother updating for the simple reason it's too big of a pain reconfiguring everything because moving the settings configuration from the old installation to the new never worked properly for me in the past. Also, I have more important things to do than to keep checking for new versions and whatnot. Last time I checked a newer version was the 1.5.1 and it actually had more bugs/crashes for me than 1.3 so I went back and never bothered again.

Is there a suggested setup though? Because I like cranking up the internal resolution to like x8, the anti-aliasing to max, no frameskip, etc., so basically max quality and ONLY Project DIVA 1/2/Extend have an issue. Guess I'll try this one...

1.5.4 was perfectly stable, 1.6.0 I just tested and it works fine, you really shouldn't have to configure too much as most default is fine. If you want to stick to worse compatibility over newer versions, that's on you, I guess.

By configuring stuff, I'm referring to control mapping because I have a weird gamepad that isn't recognized instantly so I have to redo all control settings so it's the only input method (otherwise it confuses the gamepad with the keyboard). Besides that, I have to redo the graphics settings, sound, etc..

Then I don't know what to tell you, I was only trying to help.:( If you're not willing to stick to a newer version and make the necessary changes, there is absolutely no way you're going to achieve the very high compat 1.6 has. I'm sorry.

I never said I'm not updating to 1.6, I only explained why I was on 1.3, thought that much was obvious.:/ Since it's more stable and all, I plan to update anyways.

You don't have to do that, you can simply extract on top of your old installation and it will use your old config, even saves are intact. Whenever I update I just drag 'n drop which takes like 3 seconds :P

No need to tell me, already know about it, but just did it the other way around (moved the config from old to new). No need to post poinless gifs and whatnot, I said that while I did it, for whatever reason it didn't recognize the settings so I had to redo.

PS: That gif just gives me a headache and hurts to watch with how inefficiently it's done...

It's more inefficient to extract to a new folder then copy-paste the memstick folder into it FYI.
Using menus to choose extract, point to a folder etc. is a also a bit inefficient than simple drag 'n drop imo.

Well I guess you do you, just trying to help. inb4 I don't need your help.

I could attest there were huge improvements. They did a great job. Especially on rendering and the glitches on the sound is mostly removed.

Time to try these out ladies and gentlemen.

The inefficiency I was talking about was that you actually bothered to open the 7zip archive, just drag with right mouse button and click on extract here:P

Ah I see, I usually just open from Chrome once it's downloaded and usually cba to point to save the zip where I have my PPSSPP folder to do the right-click :P

all Miku's games still stuttering lag even on 1.6 on my pc ,does anyone has any setting that didn't have the stuttering lag like this? it is only on Miku's games and other rhythm games. My pc has no other issues on action rpg or rpg games though.

I wonder if support for Final Fantasy IV Complete Edition has improved, it had heavy graphical artifacts before for me.

Graphical glitches in FF4 are completely fixed! :D

From what I could tell, no such glitches existed, even the framebuffer effects look near perfect.

Edit: didn't see the edit, whoops

iOS got PPSSPP too???
I thought shitty iPhones can't run even game boy games.

At least they don't have gold icons like us Android users right?
