They programmed it, they deserve to be paid for their time. They have staff to pay, office rent to pay, etc.
As we've heard from the real pros on twitter recently, they've most-likely stolen most of the code (80% was the word I think) from shofel2 and atmosphere. They've hit up all the guys to write the CFW for them.
And what offices do they have to pay lol. Come. On.

i find the 80% claim a little flimsy. As we all know the main feature of this device is loading of backedup files of the cartridges. Getting those to boot is no small feet. It involves alot of work. Also I think anyone making such claims underestimates such individuals. Was the code requested a big help? Of this I am sure. But once the hack was publicly released it would have been off to the races. They saved TX perhaps 6 months. And I am happy they did. But the claim of such assistance is a bit much. Once this was publicly released anyone would have the same information if they understood the hack.

how could they "steal" the code when TX was shown before shofel2 ?
they were the 1st ones to announce they had something

You're talking about the splash screen that loaded before the regular firmware right? Don't know maybe by abandoning their own code because Shofel2 is more sophisticated, no idea. What's "stealing" anyway, it's open source. So "taken" rather.

i doubt it they most likely found the same exploit as F0
they are both very smart no reason they wouldn't both discover the same vulnerabilities independently
would be nice if their was a second unknown or only known by TX exploit though but i doubt it
and how can these devs be so sure TX is using their code ? not like anyone but GaryOPA has a copy yet
if they had got a SX and broken TX DRM and looked inside and then released proof i would believe it till then ,no

Finding the exploid is the smallest part of the job, I believe.

There would be multiple people in the team, plus the hardware design and manufacture team, plus marketing team. There were also multiple iterations whose development needs to be paid for, that we will never see the final product of.

Yeah Atmosphere and all the other products use also have multiple people on the team. Working at home. In their spare time. The hardware design is a little pcb and a plastic case. You can etch & solder the pcb / program the ICs at home, or have them made in very small batches (from on piece) for very little money. The case you can 3D print. Then you send the data to china, maybe get a preview sample, approve it, done. Not rocketscience. Marketing.... lol.

that's just not how sending it to china works, different ways of making, different printers, prototype failures, packaging wrong, material to flimsy.
Its not just 1,2,3 done in a day.

I get it you don't like them, that's all fine and dandy but don't be an ass and assume its that easy to build a product.

Yeah takes a couple tries and then it's done. I still stand by my argument, it's not rocketscience and if the chinese can do lousy products, so can TX.

Its not even out yet, maybe they are not making a lousy product, and factory´s dont work for free you know.

I've known TX since the xbox 360 days and I can say for sure that their products are not lousy. I have a few xbox 360 modchips from them and I have to say, it is high quality.

"Everyone who disagrees with me is a shill" argument doesn't work as well as you think it does.

I can attest to SX's quality in the past. I don't know how they are now but their Xbox products are good. I'm planning on rolling with AutoRCM and Atmosphere but don't put down another company's products with conjecture and a sanctimonious "everyone is a shill" attitude.

Wtf?

I mean I will wait for a cracked versoin of the OS or even atmosphere but heck if T-X is not reliable.

I bought tons of chips from them in the 360 scene time (I was a installer here in Brazil) and they were huge back in the xbox 1 era too.

As other stated, I get it that you dont like them for some reason but liking it or not they are a company, they have to pay people and shit.

Yeah guys it's okay, you can stop with the social engineering ad campaign now. I've never said they are unreliable. I was trying to tell Quantumcat how (relativly) easy it is to prototype and create a shitty usb-c-stick and that you don't need an office or employees and definitly not a marketing campaign. Especially not if you have dummy accounts on GBATemp or "super fans", what ever you people might be. :ninja:

Yep everyone who thinks the product and team are good are dummy accounts.

Real pros? Like the other post said, they revealed the exploit first. And how could we come to an 80% figure when no one has TXs code in their hands?
