Hello

Is it a complete nand Backup?
Can i restore it when i Update the Firmware? Or it has a Software brick?

What is with the RPMB Partition?
I Read that this Tool Dump all but what is with this Partition?

Thanks :)
It is full, if you have the files BOOT0, BOOT1 and rawnand.bin

Yes, it will be possible to restore it in the future.
But you won't be able to run it normally. The only way to run it, is to disable the fuse check with a CFW.

But it's nice to have. With atmosphere, you can use it with emunand for homebrew, cheats, hacks, etc.
And you can have the eMMC updated to the latest update for new games, eshop, online, etc.

hi,

my 64gb class 10 sd card was not working properly with the original backup function (only did 5gb backups), so i tried yours. but after a long time it says:

10% progress
FatFS Error: Write - Low level disk I/O!
Fatal error <1> when writing to SD Card
Press any key and try again.
Time taken: 4263 secons

the card is formatted as exFat and it runs on FW 4.0.1

Try to use partial dumping:

Either format your sd card to FAT32
Or create a file named partial.idx and with a hex editor write 00 00 00 00 into it. These zeroes are values. Not the letters 0.

This will trigger partial dumping in 2GB parts.
When it fails again, immediately try to "Dump RAW eMMC" again and it will continue from the last part it was trying to.
If this doesn't work, move the already dumped parts to your pc, without moving partial.idx and try again. Again it will try from the last part.

The above tricks are also described in OP, so make sure you read it.

Thanks for reporting the error message though (FatFS Error: Write - Low level disk I/O!).
I'm collecting them to better the read/write sd/mmc code.

EDIT:
I'll put the idx file in OP. Make sure to rename it to .idx

thank you, i tried your file and it works, starts doing it partitionally. but i think my sd card got a problem, it is still very slow, even after a complete format. i will try reformatting another card with fat32 again tomorrow.

I have loaded this on my 3.0.0 switch but the hb channel (album icon) still just loads to the actual album and dosn't load the homebrew channel.

Does any one else have this issue or a solution

As per OP, you need the custom made atmosphere files that change album app into hbmenu.

Grab them from Jan4V's repo

You just unzip the file into your sd card.
Failing to do so, it boots normally without any CFW.

When dumping with small sd card, we must reboot console on every parts? Just unplug sd, move and replug, and continue?

It seems that no one reads OP.
There's a reason I made it like a guide.

I'll only say this: Don't unplug the sd card if you did any write operation (dumping) and hekate still runs.
It only gets unmounted on reboot or power off.

Again, OP explains the partial dumping procedure.
(And how to dump BOOT0/BOOT1 in regards to the first quote)

So for those of us out of the loop, what are the main differences between 3.0 & 3.0.2 that make it only viable for the former? So intrigued by the process and what this has evolved into!

The only substantive difference between 3.0.0 and 3.0.2 is the likelihood of softmods released in the near-ish future. If you're okay with using a jig or AutoRCM to boot into CFW, then there's no real difference between them.

With regard to what CFW is able to boot into and the fact that this can only boot 3.0.0 right now, this is only a short-term problem.

Is it possible to include an AutoRCM installer/uninstaller? ( https://github.com/nwert/hekate/pull/19/files )
AutoRCM installers and uninstallers have already been released. The tool you use to install AutoRCM doesn't matter, so it doesn't need to be included. In other words, you only need to install AutoRCM one time.

Once you've mastered your favorite way of launching RCM, everything you need is in the guide in the first post.
Fuck all this pegaswitch bs with 2.3.0

Just went with the easy route for me. Opened the Joycon, soldered pins 9 and 10 together and done.

Booted into RCM and injected the payload.

:)

Is someday is needed I can always desolder the pins quite easily

LOL, that's the way to go, but I will wait for atmosphere first as it might already be able to coldboot from release since a lot of new stuff just keeps appearing fast... If it only requires entering RCM 1 time I will put a cable inside the joycon PCB that contacts with pin 10 and touch the Switch cooling fins which are ground with the other tip of the cable...

If nothing permanent comes soon for my 3.02, then I would solder a new button in my joy-con for RCM or order a magnetic one...
