Not for online shopping. It requires an address thats registered to that particular country.

After searching a bit, I figured, the only way to buy e-shop games is using e-shop cards on third party websites and add the credit to your nintendo account.
That's...incredibly weird. I would think the reverse would be true because you can access the Internet from any part of the world but most people would typically convert their money into that country's currency if they travel abroad. I wonder why that is...

Anyway, thanks for the update. I hope that extra little bit of trouble is worth getting games a few hours early.

What I was asking was more of once I reset my system or turn it off do I have to relaunch the payload? If I exit any app or if it freezes when I go back to the gallery menu it works like the gallery and not the launcher. The only way to get the launcher back it to redo they payload, is there a fix for that or do I keep putting the wire In and flashing each time?

By putting the wire in, I assume you mean booting the Switch into recovery mode (RCM)? Because you can only send payloads to the Switch via USB when it is in RCM. That payload you are sending doesn't make any permanent changes to the console, hence why it is safe for people to use now, but we have no way of saving those changes. I am also assuming your Switch is past 3.0 (maybe 5.02?) which there are no publicly available methods of accomplishing this. Basically, I think you're relying on a tethered exploit to load FBA because there are no other exploits for your Switch's firmware.

I'm on 4.0.1, and have been using the TegraSmash (not sure of that's what it's called, I'm at work) program on my laptop. I put my switch into RCM mode, then on my laptop I drag the "payload.bin" file onto the actual .exe of the program TegraSmash. It then sends the payload to my switch, and then the menu pops up on my switch where I have to select with the power button, and move with the volume buttons. I'm able to select "CFW" and then my switch reboots back to the main menu, I goto Albums, and then I'm in the hb loader. I tried the App store, but the controls really didn't work (I only found out a few hours ago to use the touch screen to navigate, so I'll try that tonight) I also tried running snes9x 2010, but it wouldn't load and just send me back to the hb loader. I'm guessing I'm missing files or something???

@infidelity It sounds like you are trying to run Retroarch. However, it is only supported up to firmware 3.0. That is why it is not working.

@ShawnTRods Why a modded Joy-Con? You don't want to use a jig? Its smaller, cheaper, and readily in stock. I could be wrong but I don't think there's a marketplace for those because that would involve someone buying Joy-Cons in bulk, modding them, and selling at a higher markup which is pretty steep considering how much Joy-Cons are worth. You can try asking around to see if you could send your Joy-Con to someone who can mod it for you.

@Sora Takihawa Is it not showing as an APX device on Windows? Or do you hear an error sound and a message saying the drivers weren't properly installed? I've had this happen to me and it magically fixed itself after retrying multiple times.

What is FIFA 18 required FW?

I was wondering if I can keep my console on 4.1.0 to play it (physical version).
Also, it is necessary to update the console to update a game?

@horokeusama FIFA 18 is a 3.01 game so you should be good to do. But you cannot update the game without updating your console unfortunately

@ShawnTRods
No problems, the forum is kind of unorganized at the moment so unless you've been paying attention since early on, it's hard to make heads and tails of what's what. Allow me to explain. Recently, a new exploit has been revealed that takes advantage of the Switch's recovery mode, or RCM for short. To do this, like you would with any other device, you would press home and volume up. The problem is there is no physical home button on the Switch, or at least it appears so. The 10th pin on the right rail on the Switch is the "Home Button". Shorting this pin, which means sending an excess amount of electricity, will mimic pressing the home button. To do this, the original method involved bending pins 9 and 10 on either the Switch's rail or on the right Joy-Con. But that's a little dangerous as there are safer methods of shorting pin 10. All you really need is a way to conduct a current into pin 10 from something that is grounded such as pin 1, the screws on the Joy-Coin rail, or even the metal within the fan. Here is a thread of all the various ways to enter RCM aka shorting pin 10: https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-ultimate-list-of-mods-to-enter-rcm.502145/

@Sora Takihawa
You're sure its in RCM? The Nintendo logo should not show up when you turn on the console. The screen should stay black.

I've had this happen to me occasionally but sometimes when I tried booting into RCM, the screen would stay black and Windows would not list it as an APX device. When you see APX device, the Switch is in RCM because that's what it is supposed to do in RCM otherwise it would start charging. The way I got around this was simply trying to re-enter RCM again and again until Windows started detecting. Now I don't know if this is even the same problem as I've yet to see any other user report this, but something tells me it is not actually booting into RCM. All I can suggest is to keep trying, even I wasn't always successful getting it into RCM but it will work eventually.

Will it be possible a 3ds emulator for the console, I recently installed citra in my i5 and 8gb ram laptop, with intel HD grpahics and Majora's Mask runs prefectly at 30 fps in 720p, I think it maybe possible but well... it's too soon to tell.

Yes although trying to make the 2 screens work on the single one of the Switch might be just one of many problems. Although since the 3DS itself is already portable, making an emulator for the Switch might seem redundant. But who knows, someone just might have the time and patience to do it. Also be aware of the fact that it took several years until we got a fully functional 3DS emulator on the PC.

Short answer? No.
Long answer? No.

Possible, maybe, but practical, no.
