The long-awaited sequel to the cult classic Beyond Good and Evil got a new video today, giving fans a quick look at the game. Developers over at Ubisoft explain that they've been focusing on motion capture, and creating two different types of gameplay--ship combat, and combat using the main character's staff weapon. You can fly your pirate ship alongside friends in a co-op mode, and even take to the skies using a jetpack. All of the footage in the video is specifically noted as being pre-alpha, and is still in early development, so the game is far from release. Though there is no release date currently, more gameplay is promised to be shown at this year's E3. Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been teased since 2008, falling into development issues multiple times, and only just was formally announced in 2017.

Kinda off-topic but I hate how footage can mean video too, cuz whenever I read that I instantly think of pictures...

Edit: After watching the footage, I can only say the graphics seem good so far. They didn't really show much else. A lot of repeating the same clip over and over. Plus that woman 3d model with a stick seemed like she was detached from it when it spun.

It's a Zelda like adventure game. Really great and I think the graphics, story and gameplay still are pretty good today (there is a HD remake as well).

Beyond Good and Evil is great at that. I can still play the game after finishing it almost 50 Times now. It just has an amazing world and atmosphere. Loveable Chars und an nice Story. Pick it up on GOG. Totaly worth the few bucks it costs now. Dont get it on Steam or UPlay. Versions there arent Optimized for newer PCs. There is also an HD Version on PS3

i would call it a mix of zelda and mario 64, you go to dungeons and such an do quest to get shiny orbs, like mario 64 there are orbs everywhere and you need to find the orbs and of course finishing the "dungeons" gives you orbs too, its a preety great game imo.

From what we saw in the Trailer the Main Character of Beyond Good and Evil 2 could be a Relative to Jade. Its a Prequel. Maybe even the Mother. Because it was hinted in the First Game that Jades Parents are Pirates. And they had to leave Jade with Pey'J for her safety.
