Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you brick your DSi, even if it's because of an error by TempNand. You should always test your nand in No$GBA before flashing it back, no exceptions. Also, this is the initial release, so expect it to be buggy for the time being. If you encounter an error, please let me know and attach the error description here.

ALWAYS KEEP A CLEAN BACKUP THAT HAS NEVER BEEN TOUCHED BY TEMPNAND!!!!

This is a super straightforward tool for simple nand edits.

How To links:

Things you'll never have to do ever again for DSi nand editing:

  • Use a hex editor
  • Use the command line
  • Mount your nand to edit its internal contents
  • decrypt/encrypt things yourself
Known bugs:
  • Minor: Whenever you try to open or save a nand file, the program will appear to freeze up. This is completely normal, please just give it a few seconds. I'll try to add in a loading screen in future releases.
Found a bug? Please let me know below!

Changelog:

  • April 1st, 2018: Initial release
Upcoming features:
  • OSFmount-free nand mounting
  • Twlnf script generator

Second download link in case you didnt see the first.

I am so excited for this homebrew!
Easy downgrade and installing DSi ware without screwing around hex and other commands.
Hope it will improve in the future!

Thanks!

Just to clarify for anyone seeing this post, downgrading and installing apps already works, it's just possible the program will crash if you open incorrect files or mess around with the stuff inside the folder. Nothing works terribly though, so it's already at a stage where it's ready for use.

I knew it wasn't an April Fools' joke because it wasn't in the "Edge of the Forum" section. Good work, though. I surely hope this ignites the DSi homebrew scene again; kind of, actually.
I hope so too! Unfortunately this doesn't give homebrew access to anyone that doesn't have it yet (EUR/JAP region people) but it makes the whole thing a lot more convenient

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

not to be a jerk or anything but.......
is dsi cfw still being worked on
DSi CFW is already completely done, we just don't have a way to install it :(

Updated the OP a bit and linked to the DSiguide pages I updated to use TempNand. The first release has been thoroughly tested and found to be appropriately stable, so don't be afraid to use it (although always test your nand before flashing to your DSI).

I just made a new release, which includes an unlaunch installer.

To install unlaunch to a nand backup, just click the "install unlaunch" button and navigate to the unlaunch.dsi file.

Obviously, you should always test in no$gba and be careful flashing to your dsi without a nand backup and hardmod.

Whenever I try to open my nand to do anything it says it's valid but not properly encrypted when it's a nand dumped from fwtool.

It's a big I found out about recently, I'm working on a fix. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, it's a weird bug because it seems to only affect some DSis, but not others. I'm trying to get it fixed as quickly as possible, I'll let you know as soon as it's fixed.

Awesome Program, the 'export no$gba' feature is a HUGE time saver!
Though it would be nice to have the default value for the name to be "DSI-1.mmc"

One small suggestion, It may be helpful to put a few warnings in the program.

For example, if the user loads up a dump, downgrades, then asks to save as a decrypted dump, maybe say "saved decrypted dump, DON'T Flash this!"
Also a message for saving the no$ file as 'nand_dsi.bin' "This is not a flashable file.

These are more for new people, so it would also be nice to have the option to disable these messages.
