How i lock a post?
Also, the related threads are old, i didnt ignored them
You dont. Its not YOUR posting, its a posting. As soon as other people have posted in it, you shouldnt be able to just make it go away.
So lets take a look at this - and make it a little lesson for everyone. Because lessons are soooo fun...
You just used a Forum, where thousands of people lurk everyday for your own personal benefit, and your own personal benefit alone. Those 400 views you got? Those are people. Some of them reading this forum every day.
What you did never was an issue in the "internet of old", where almost everybody had to a have an IQ of about 120 to get to participate, what you did - strangely, mostly became an issue, after the freaking meeeeeeee generation, socialized on the web by freaking facebook of all cancers, was let loose to experience the world, typing one question into their smartphones at a time.
Im exaggerating for illustrational purposes. But at its core, there is a deep truth to it.
For some reason, some people nowadays think, that even having to read, or use search on their own, before asking for ("attend to me, answer my question, when is ETA") personal support. This does fly in every community that depends on people like you giving them cheap ad clicks - (reddit, facebook, - also almost every commercial forum...) this doesnt fly in "real" information sharing communities.
Here is why.
Those thousand people that just saw what you posted --
They dont want to read "When is stuff, how is most easy, help me figure this out ---" in capital letters, every day, on the frontpage of the forum they use to share information, and their work. Many of them have heard an empty "thank you" tenthousands of times, and they know - that you will repeat the pattern the next time you think of a question.
There is a difference between wanting information and demanding a service. And you just found out what it is...
"How about you read stuff for me, and then make a youtube video - or tell it to me in simple words --" isnt the height of enlightenment. Ask if you want or need to, but do it with some social recognition of where you are, and what role you encompass in all of this. At least for now. Hey - maybe you become the next mast0r haxx0r one day, who knows.
Chances are, that reading and trying to look stuff up are part of that - are more than average..
And even if you are not. Not relying on what random people tell you on the internet is essential if you want to make concepts like democracy (!) work in the long run (an educated opinion requires more than surface knowledge, watching a youtube clip, or letting someone else tell you "whats best").
Cheerio,
n.
edit: Also, as far as ETAs in the foss or homebrew world are concerned, the answer is always "when its done". People more often than not dedicate their free time to those projects, they decide on their own, when stuff is able to be released, or if and when they want to give a rough ETA - or not.
