OP
My public seed has been banned today, and people are going around saying we have a new banwave. So i attempted to make a poll to see if this is true.

Edit:The results interestingly show that the same amount private seeds aswell as the amount of people possibly on the same public seed have been banned at same time.Usually it's just a public seed that goes down and we are able to backtrack what seed it was,but this time a good amount of individual private seeds have been banned along with the possibility of multiple public seeds instead of just one.

So the banwave claims are true.

Copy pasting from that other thread since I'm lazy:

Actually, it's VERY possible we got another banwave out of nowhere, TWO private seeds of mine (a main and a backup one) both got banned like 20 mins ago and the weird thing is that I didn't even touch anything I don't have as cartridge or anything I didn't download from the eshop in like a MONTH now!:/ What the hell is going on? On my backup one I literally had ran FBI ONCE and that was it, nothing else before backing it up 2 months ago. My error is 002-0102.
I posted that there. Would getting a public seed make my friend list unusable or anything? (eg: not recognizing friends)

wait their banning private seeds now did you turn off everything? spotpass etc? I think you can also block a certian URL on your routers firewall too
For me it was private and I've seen people mention their private ones got banned too. I turned off sending of system information and all that and only ran homebrew CIAs while offline (always loading a legit title first before going back online). I really don't know what happened.

JDbye said don't use cia's use rosalina luma 8.0+ then put the stub (enter a useless system app like health and saftey hold select L down choose misc options then set hb menu to this app also select save settings (bottom option) make sure you have the updated hb menu boot.3dsx (if anything get Smea's hb menu executible http://smealum.github.io/3ds it will work on Rosalina but i rather use the updated one https://github.com/fincs/new-hbmenu on your root of your SD card) when you set the hb title and save exit the app completely then re enter the app you'll find yourselves in the hb menu grab a feww 3dsx's I suggest above all else JK's save manager dunno if it's Rosalina compatable

I didn't block any urls, but I did take the spotpass and friends list precautions. Private seed is beaned.

I thought of something that could have caused this ban for me so suddenly, so want to know if I'm the only one that had some of these things:
- EULA setter homebrew with the EULA set to FF.FF from 01.01 (Europe)
- A game using modified EULA to play online (FE: Fates for me as that's what probably caused the ban) that uses Spotpass too (used it twice then deactivated it)
- Any out of region games with online (only one besides FE: F I can think of that I have is MHXX, but if that was the case I would have gotten way earlier)

Anyone else had any of those or a combination? Let's try to look for any similarities in the bans. For my case, those three were the only things that could have possibly gotten me banned assuming I hadn't been flagged ages ago...

Out of region games with no online may also count since whatever game you launch on your 3ds home menu with the wifi on could be recorded just like how nintendo can detect homebrew, but thats a long shot. The use of a ftp server to transfer files from your pc to your 3ds could also be a possible cause due to it being a homebrew that requires you to be online

Never used an FTP server though, but they could just fall in the same category. However, simply an out of region online game wouldn't justify the ban as I know a LOT of people that I played MHXX with, including some streamers, and only 3 have gotten banned out of the 50+... It must have something to do with games using spotpass or it's just something too random to pinpoint.

What? FTP does not connect to Nintendo servers, it's just between your 3DS, your router, and your PC. I've been using FTP for months, I haven't been banned. Maybe you are being too paranoid?

Its not that im paranoid,im just listing possibilitys on the top of my head since the cause of the bans that trigger them to happen is still unsolved.Anyway, even if you arent connecting to nintendos server you are still connecting to a server, and nintendo can detect that you are running homebrew.

Nope, the server is your computer. Nintendo does not have any access to that connection. That is the ENTIRE point of FTP.

So how do you think they are able to detect that you are running homebrew with just the wifi switch on.

Same combo on three consoles, not a single one banned.

Not true. In order to use FTP you have to connect the 3DS to the internet and let it connect to Ninty's servers and do it's thing first. In fact, if it can't reach Ninty's servers then it will drop the network connection because there is "no internet" so it will move on to the next one.

Can't you fake http://conntest.nintendowifi.net ? After all, it's just a plain HTML page served over HTTP.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
