Always check the rom names, and I don't mean the zip name.

Example
3ninjas (USA).zip

Needs to be
3ninjas.zip and inside the zip needs to be 3ninja.md

This avoids the C3 C7 C8 errors

new problems...

thanks to Liriel I was able to setup everything to working state but...

I got a VERY weird situation, the SD mod works, I installed the hmods by putting them in a transfer directory, they work, custom borders, genesis, etc...

when I try playing Genesis games it sometime works but it'll most of the time give me C2/C3 and then C7 and then my SNES Classic will act up and crash. I didn't use anything fancy, same setup as I had directly on my console before SD. (no save compression or extra space hmods this time(no need)...

I use my SD in FAT32 since I wasn't able to use ext properly on my PC.

I'm using the following hmods:
_km_genesis_plus_gx_12_25_17.hmod
_km_mame2003_12_28_17.hmod
_km_retroarch_167_12_25_17.hmod
_km_snes9x_12_25_17.hmod

I'm seriously considering just reverting everything to normal and enjoy arround 200 games.
That’s what you should do. Get a ras pi if you wanna do all the extra stuff.

I'm one of these sick men who rename every rom they have to proper titles

You’re the one who said you might revert back to default and I was just agreeing with you. I’m obviously not telling you what to do so get off your high horse a little bit bro. But Nintendo did not make the perfect system for It otherwise you wouldn’t be debating it. A ras pi is for unlimited amount of games. The Classic is not for that. You’re making it a pi pretty much anyways. It’s nice to fit as much as you can for what’s given. Not to add on hard drives and sd cards etc to be able to play more games and bigger games that you can already play on a pi. Just my opinion so don’t go cry about it.

Did you write this post on your pi? Just emulate on your PC, why bother with a pi?

Is there a way to auto-match your cover art to the roms in Hakchi2? Or are we forced to load the cover art manually for each game?

It would be nice to be able to match a rom name to the same image name and have it automatically import the cover art for the games you have.

That's exactly what I do. I have the original hackchi that I use for the NES Classic and also the 2.21f version that I use for the SNES Classic.

How do I find out what's chewing up my snesc memory?

For example it now shows I have 130.7MB / 187.7MB.. but the other day it was showing I had a total of ~233MB (now it's at 187.7MB)

I'm trying to figure out what caused it to go from 233MB total space to 187.7MB total space. Any easy ways to check?

You're entitled to your opinion, I'm not turning this into a pi at all, I'm just making the most out of my console, besides I hack about just anything I can for the fun of it. My original Nes is now Hi def NEs with HDMI out and it has 4 built in controller ports...

More details on my recent crashes, when I play a game and revert back to a "parent" folder it crashes, not sure if it only applies to aub folders though, gonna have to try that!

Anyone get Home Alone to work on SNES (via retroarch even). I got it to work using --retroarch the other day, then uninstalled all my cores
and updated to KMFD's latest cores and Home Alone goes to a black screen with music running and the --retroarch doesn't seem to work anymore. Any ideas?

EDIT: using preset ID of 0x9C10 allows this game to run. Thanks to @rhester72

not sure why it doesn't work in RetroArch though..

Does the hdmi on original console make a big diff?
