Sorry to disturb, I'm not sure if this is the place to create the topic ( please someone move to the right place) anyway... first I'm from Brazil, so my English is not too good ( I'm using Google Translate right now to create this topic )

Anyway, apparently my Switch is bricked

After playing BOTW and turning off the console it ended up getting this way, when I press the Power button appears the Nintendo logo and then the Nintendo Switch logo, but it is no more than that as you can see in the video (it also appears the battery icon when I put it to charge ), I really am a little afraid of this problem have no solution because I'm living in Brazil, so send the Nintendo Switch to Nintendo of America is not an option for me ( And Nintendo Switch cust 1,700 R$ here it's like a U$ 510, a don't have money for a new one )

PS: As this happened out of nowhere, I believe it's some corrupted save or something, I remember that Wii U also had problems like this but in the case it gave Error Code 160-0103, Maybe something can work out, right? like a format system or try to restory to the factory configs.

There is a recovery mode which lets you factory reset, that might help.
But first, try holding the power button until it turns off (takes like 12 seconds I believe) and powering it on again.

Thanks for ask but, I tried turning the Switch off by pressing the power button for 5, 10, 30 seconds and turning on again but didn't work, I have tried this several times and... how do I access this '' Recovery Mode ''? ( Sorry, Noob here xD )

google nintendo switch recovery mode
"Press the POWER Button while holding the volume up and volume down buttons. Continue holding the volume buttons to open recovery mode. Keep holding the volume buttons until recovery mode is displayed. "

  • Turn off the console by pressing the power button on top of the console for five seconds.
  • Press POWER button + Volume Up + Volume down at the same time.
  • Release all buttons when the Switch logo appears on the screen.
  • The console should now be in recovery mode with the option to update

Thanks for teaching me how to get into recovery mode, I tried this but I had a problem, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, however, no matter how I hold the volume buttons I can't enter into the recovery mode screen, it's still stuck in the Nintendo Switch logo after the Nintendo Logo D:

Couldn't you send it back to the store where you bought it? It should still be under warranty and the store should have the responsibility to fix / replace it, whether they are Nintendo or not.

If your not worried about voiding your warranty then open it up unplug the battery let it completely drain of all power then put it back together.

Unfortunately not D:

Make sure you press the volume buttons before you even touch the power button. I guess you already did that but this may help. :)

I tried several times, I can't access recovery time, no matter how much I press the volume buttons, it only appears the Nintendo logo and the Nintendo Switch logo after D:

I don't have warranty anymore xD but I don't understand what you said exactly =/

Some guy on youtube fixed his bricked switch by taking it apart and removing the battery then putting it back together.

Never had a problem like this before, try removing any game card or sd card from the system.

Also tell us when it was last working what happened. If you can't even use the recovery menu, then you might as well take it to nintendo

Thanks for letting me know this xD, I don't have the equipment to open the Switch but I can try to find something for this

No game or micro sd inserted, I was just playing BOTW, normally.

Really? Like, you brought it there and they refused to fix it? Did they say why they refused to fix it? Or you seriously bought it without the store's warranty?

I bought from a physical store in Brazil, but it was only 3 months warranty.

It's Brazil, where Nintendo does not officially operate. Things can be kinda iffy at retailers.

Yeah, I know, that's why I said the store, meaning where he bought it, not Nintendo.

Hmm, if Amazon doesn't ship to you, try Aliexpress then.

Judging from the review, it seems good.

At least try contacting Nintendo or look up the solution online friend. If it was me, warranty or not, I'd tear it down to pieces if thats what I gotta do.
Hope you can get it fixed.
