Pokemon Infinite Fusion 2: Hoenn gets first early access release, features first two gyms

After being announced earlier this month, the first early access release for Pokemon Infinite Fusion 2: Hoenn is now live. This first release includes the first two gyms, giving you a good bit of content to sink your teeth into while you wait for the rest. As mentioned in the initial announcement, the second release will include up to the sixth gym, with the third taking you up to the Pokemon League, and the final fourth release adding in the post-game content. With this being the very first release, some bugs are to be expected, with bug fixes planned for the coming days and weeks to address those reported. By making use of the provided launcher, you'll be able to keep your game up to date and as bug-free as possible.

It is worth keeping in mind that Pokemon Infinite Fusion has no official website, with updates being delivered exclusively via their Discord server and subreddit. Links to both can be found below, along with a direct link to the launcher that'll let you download and update both the original and new releases.

A shame it's another RPG Maker + Essentials project. I'd have loved this as a DS romhack.
Honestly I'd love it if they'd just update the project to a more modern RPG Maker. Better controller support and wide-screen would go so far for these fan games.

A project like this is not possible in a DS romhack. Maybe a GBA one and it would be a stretch too.
But yeah, RPG maker games aren't that great technically speaking. But that's because making a Pokémon engine is actually quite the ridiculous amount work. I'd even say it's so crazy that Gamefreak is tied to decades old spaghetti code, and they prefer to keep using their unoptimized engine over and over instead of investing and code a new one from scratch.
