Quick question - if I'm adding SNES games only (no RA) and I don't want to use folders (all games on front screen) then how many games total (including the original 21) is considered safe before running into errors? Also does that number change if compressed/uncompressed?

Personally I prefer have various folders with maximum 20 games each, but (from what I read) it's not reccommended to exceed over 50-60 games per folder... the limit should not change if you use compressed or uncompressed ROMs.

@Cluster would it be possible in the game selection to add the possibility of folders or subsections to make it easier sorting through roms something similar to the original 21 but for systems.. reason I ask on reddit someone has figured out how to make unique ui for easy folder. thus allowing us now to pull the nes ui and use it in a folder so if make a folder named nes classic when I enter that folder it could look just like the nes classic. with this I would like to make one more for super game boy .

but the way it is now if I dump all the roms into hakchi it will be very disorganized as it only sorts by title and not system ... which would actually be better now that I am think about it instead of sub folders could there be a sort field by system?

thanks for taking your time to read this.

This is very easy to accomplish and already built into hakchi, just select custom folder structure and you can name each system as the front page folders and assign pictures for that system i.e. "gameboy" with all of your gameboy roms inside that folder, and so on with each system

@TxFxL i believe the previous post / feature request is referring to the main screen hakchi screen's large white rectangle field on the left where all games listed and you select/deselect all the games. It would be nice to be able to filter and sort by system.

Exactly. I know I can sort them my self in folders that's not the issue that's the cool part not only can I give it a icon but with ftp I can actually mod a few line of code and change the whole UI once you enter the folder... So if I have a nes folder I click on it now it looks like a nes classic... If I have (Gameboy/super gameboy) folder I can make my own custom UI then when I go back to the main folder I am at snes UI as it should be.

If I am going to be using hakchi to manage the art work for the individual games how will I know which system the game belongs to unless I add a ugly prefix to eact game .... So if I could sort the rooms by system it would make things easy to keep organized imo. But I am definitely talking about hakchi main screen not the custom sync dailog.

Has there been any headway on lowering the space save states take up? There have been varying accounts as to whether lowering the rewind figure from 600 to 100 helps, could someone verify this?

Also a bunch of pages back someone mentioned that save states could be compressed at some point? not sure where that's at either

Kinda nervous about attempting this. I noticed many are saying they're putting the original 20 games it came with. So when you do this mod, does it wipe all the original games built in?

Ah ok..thank you! Speaking of memory, where do the additional games get saved to?
Is there like a microSD type of memory built into the SNES?

don't want to be an ass but if that's all what's available I'll have to make some...
I'm not quite sure I understand. If you're referencing the number of different genres, it's easy to create more. Those were the main genres that came back in a "SNES game genre" search, plus some additional genres from the OP, in screenshot form and written form. If you're referencing the quality of the folder art, well to each their own...

there are a chip on the board where the memory is stored.

at the moment there are some working to use a micro sd instead of it to get more memory in the system
