Hello everyone,

I'm trying to choose a linker for my new n3DS XL, freshly hacked under CFW, and I am relatively lost.
My objective is simple : to be able to play DS ROMS on 3DS, and this in the best possible conditions (since my console is already hacked, no need for frills like ntrboothax compatibility I imagine).
I've read on a lot of message boards, and especially on GBATEMP, that the R4i gold 3DS RTS has the preference of some, while others recommend the R4i sdhc 3DS RTS, or even the Ace3DS PLUS.
Could you help me please, perhaps by explaining why you think that such-and-such linker is better, and / or why do others seem to you less good?
Indeed, I don't really know what are the hardware / software differences of those mentioned above.

Thanks for any answer and sorry for my bad english ! :-)

Get the r4i gold 3ds rts (r4ids.cn). It has a much better kernel (no time bomb, faster, more convenient to use etc).
OK thanks a lot ! :-)
One last question if you allow me, in order to understand better what you say : I heard that Ace3DS Plus has the same wood kernel than r4i gold 3ds rts, so what are the differences between those two (except the price much lower for the first one) ?

The Ace3DS is not supported by the flasher yet and it doesn't have RTS. It uses a hacked version of the wood kernel while the R4i Gold had official support.

Very clear answer, for me the r4i gold 3ds rts seems to be the evident choice from now on, thanks a lot ! :-)

You're welcome :)
Sorry for bothering you again, but is the list of Dealers and Retailers on r4ids.cn a list of reliable resellers ?
Because I want to pay in euros, and the price on nds-card is €19.99, against €15.8 on several websites from this list.
Thanks for any information !

We use nds-card.com here because they are partenrs with GBATemp IIRC. We know them for a while, many users used their services, and they are reliable. Problem with this kind of item is to be able to trust the vendor. If you want to buy it from a french vendor, I would even triple check if I were you, because IIRC linkers are pretty much banned from France (maybe it changed, but it used to be the case)

EDIT : Apparently Nintendo lost the trial at the European court about linkers, so this decision should overwrite the one decided by the French authorities. Anyway, still be careful with that. Plus, if you're not in a hurry, I'm pretty sure they'll be cheaper on nds-card using air mail posting.
