Why? The hack hasn’t been released yet, it’s already confirmed the only way to hack it now is through FTP. If you want to do that, you can try that yourself.
Don't recommend this to people! A lot of people are bricking there SNES Classic because they can't wait for the official release.
Simply put, if you don't know what you're doing, or the instructions seem hard to follow, then wait for the official tool to be released. Cluster said it would take about a week or so to finish.
Everyone, please be patient and don't do anything to brick a console that is currently hard to find.

Can you point me to the FTP Method? I been trying to get there using FTP, but I can't remount the FS as RW and I think thats where im stuck

Some games probably have chips not emulated, and will require retroarch. A few of the original games might even be improved by running them in retroarch, depending on how accurate the emulation is on the NES Mini. There are some bugs introduce into some of the original games, like for example the Get Fuzzy level and background disappearing when you touch a fuzzy... However, the mini definitely as has an improved emulation of the FX2 chip.

Benefits that Retroarch can add is some improved/better CRT filters or other filters.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

it can't run on a PC architecture only ARM.

If you want something that resembles it running on PC, build your retroarch template shell.

It would be great if the SNES Mini Emu would run as homebrew on the WiiU within the homebrew section. I know, legal issues and still. Still my hope is someone will port it, one day. Both ARM architecture, and the 8Bitdo NES and SNES wireless controllers rock, aside of these SNES mini controllers also connect to the Wiimotes. And yes, I own the SNES Mini too. How about if someone would make a porting piece of software that rips ones own SNES Mini software and repack it as a WiiU installable package. Then only the end user would use the stuff he owns already, not transferring it to someone else...

I am not recommending this, anyone who reads this forum actively should already be aware of this.

Have patience... There will be a easy no nonsense hack soon enough.. Until then enjoy the games already on it... Not worth bricking your system just to get "Chrono Trigger" on there...

Only this game?, ONLY????:ninja:

The main reason, but not the only one (Super Mario World, Mega Man X, Star Fox 2, A Link to the Past... To many to name them all) ;)

EDIT: Also, I've never had the chance of playing that game unlike other of the SNES games included.

The games I plan on adding:

- Chrono Trigger
- DKC2 and DKC3
- Seiken Densetsu 3

Don' want to go overboard, I'm more curious as to how well the emulator handles Square Enix's funky handling of the SPC700, and Chrono Trigger uses it in very unique ways. IIRC, even the Wii
had issues replicating the Lavos scream.

Good Lord there are a ton of people who need to read previous posts and be patient.

Let Cluster take as much time as he needs. If it's a week, great. If not, that's fine too.

P.S. calling Chrono Trigger the "crown jewel" is a perfect description.

Right, come on people, keep your pants on.

Anyway, we have to thank Nintendo that has allowed hacking the console to be able to put the games we want, I understand that Nintendo has put a lot of crap on the console for licensing issues ...
So "thank you" Nintendo for thinking of your loyal fans!:toot:

@pcm720 step1 i flash the custom kernel to the snes with hakchi2
Step 2 i edit the gamepath
Step 3 i convert the snes rom to sfrom
Step 4 i load the roms in the edit gamepath per ftp.

Is this right?
