@Quantumcat can you confirm that the dumped bootroms are the same?
you can check them with godmode9 virtual memory -> boot9.bin -> sha256

Are the speakers any good? They look so easily covered and just... not as good as the New 3DS (XL)'s speakers.
Not sure yet, I'll take it with me on my lunch time walk and have a play with it. I'll edit this reply.

Edit: I was in a noisy area and could hear nothing, but I could feel the vibrations in the back. Doesn't mean it is worse, as I can't hear the N3DSXL in the same noisy environment either. But the tingling in my fingers from the speakers felt weird.

It's out here in New Zealand and in Australia where OP is from.
You're a kiwi? You guys are like three hours ahead of me. You could have taken an early lunch and still beaten me to it! :)
Edit: sorry, two hours.

Human, actually~

Typically we're two hours ahead of you guys but if I remember correctly, Australia's west coast is three hours behind us.

Well, it seems my little brother bought a New 2DS XL so I'll get to play with one this evening. I'm perfectly happy with my New 3DS XL though, personally. I hope he lets me hack it, just because. And he bought Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (I still need to finish it - I've had the Wii version since it came out and have barely played it), so I hope he likes it.

So i assume you used the "new" 11.4 .firm file from the guide?
Also congratulations on been first to hack the n3ds xl!
Yep. Treated it as a New 3DS. I am not the first though :-( (maybe first for a legally obtained retail console).

I think he's trying to reference New Zealand Story here.
Well, actually New Zealanders are called kiwis here. It's slang, like they'd call us (and we call ourselves) aussies. And we both call Americans yanks and the English, poms. Maybe @TCJJ doesn't like the term, sorry! :P
