Follow https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9sHello there.I have a question too. I bought a New3DS (EU) yesterday. I've tried to install FBI on it, via downgrading to version 2.x via Soundhax, then I've downloaded a .bin from dukesrg and there my problem began: I've forgotten to do a backup of my SysNand. Now my DS says "Failed to mount CTRNAND". I can still enter the Luma Menu via Power + Select, and I can enter another menu with hourglass, godmode and tools like this via Power + Start.
I've been given advise to to CTRTransfer and did this like https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer.html said to - Everything worked well, but I still get the error.
Any other ways to get this fixed? Maybe it's possible to get the SysNand copied by another DS? I have another n3ds which I could use.
I would be really glad if I can fix this, would be sad to have 200 Euro bricked.

You shouldn't have downgraded at all. Stay away from video guides in future (if that's what you did). If you want to do something to your 3DS, check if it is detailed in https://3ds.guide first, and if it isn't, search here, but make sure whatever method you find is not outdated before you do it.
Also, if English is not your first language and that's why you were looking at another guide, note that translations exist. Click the signpost button on the top right of the page to choose a different language to read it in.

What are the symptoms again? If the light goes on then off make sure you have boot.firm from Luma on the root of your SD card. If 8.0 doesn't work try 7.1 as well, and vice versa.Thank you! But I've followed this and it didn't work. I'm at the same point as before.. any other possible solutions for this?
:/

What error message do you get from GodMode9?I have taken a few pictures so you can see the situation! http://imgur.com/a/g2TKb
I have taken Pictures from the DS when started without a button pushed, one with select, one with start. Last but not least the SD-Card. Can you tell me which files I have to keep when deleting old stuff? I want to give it another shot without data I don't need anymore, but I'm pretty confident I need at least some files for this armloader9hax so I can start anything.
When pressing start Godmode starts and I get an error message.. anything about this I should be worried?

You don't need any of the bin files on the root of your SD. I don't know what the ykrs one is though so maybe back it up somewhere.

You don't need to do it again - once it is installed it's installed. The warning is:
Warning: slot 0x05 crypto fail!
Could not set up slot0x05keyY.
Continue?
A yes B No
I will delete the whole SD-Card.. I've made a backup. And then try again the whole process.![]()

Try downloading the most recent version of GodMode9 from https://github.com/d0k3/GodMode9/releases/latest
I know that error is caused by missing aeskdb.bin but I can't remember what the exact circumstances are that make it come up.

I'm sure there's a reason. Don't give up yet. If I think of something I'll tell you, and maybe someone else will have an idea and share it.I have already used the newest version of Godmode.. I get a bad feeling about the DS, maybe it's not fixable that easy now. :/

Edit: can I see what you have in luma/payloads?

I wonder if maybe it is using the one from CTR-NAND? Try this and tell me what happens :Thank you, you are very friendly. Don't know many people in the internet who are that nice and patient.

There you can see both folders. ARM9Payloads was empty and now deleted by me.

You're still on b9s 1.1 or 1.0 from the sounds of things - follow https://3ds.guide/updating-b9sHello, Noob here, and my problem is I just updated my n3DSXL from a9lh to b9s with this guide https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s.html
And problem is after I've complete all the steps, when I tried to use LumaUpdater to update my n3dsxl currently at Luma 7.1 to 8.0. Whatever I do (download Luma 8.0 boot.firm & place it out in the root of the SD card or use Luma Updater) It's still stuck at Luma 7.1 (I try booting the system holding Select but it's still remain Luma 7.1). Now I don't know if there is any step I did wrong or Did I successfully update my n3dsxl? Is there any way to check and how can I update my n3dsxl to Luma 8.0? btw, my n3dsxl currently at 11.2
Thanks.
I wonder if maybe it is using the one from CTR-NAND? Try this and tell me what happens :
A) take out the SD card, and boot up holding Select
B) same, but hold Start
If you get the exact same thing happen as when your SD is inserted, try following this:
Then try again holding Select or Start on booting up.
If something different happens (like the blue light going on then off) then it's a harder problem :-/

You're still on b9s 1.1 or 1.0 from the sounds of things - follow https://3ds.guide/updating-b9s
But you don't have to. From what I can see, there are more issues in Luma 8.0 than 7.1. Unless you're dying to try out Rosalina, you don't need to update.

I'm really sure it's not bricked. You should be able to use GodMode9 if you find aeskeydb.bin and put it....somewhere (I think on root). If you can't find anywhere to download it let me know and I can put one on my website for you to download. It is the problem with the blue light. It happens nothing except starting the blue light for a few seconds and then turning off. Anything possible per hardmod then? Maybe I'll find someone who fixes this with the needed tools for a fair amount of money. Might it be possible throgh this new magnet-fix maybe and I should wait? Or is it a good way to sell the device then to someone who works with defective devices so my loss isn't 100%?
