my record is 38 seconds, which is very slow in the world of speedcubing

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I tried tons of guides when I was younger, couldnt work it out no matter how many times I was told how to do it
from the time i got my cube to the time i could solve it in less than a minute from memory was 1 month

what 3x3 method are you using, i'm debating whether to use cfop or roux

I get around 20 seconds with CFOP, 22 with Roux, 30 with ZZ because I don't practice it any, and probably around 25 with Petrus.

Go with CFOP if you want a fast method with high TPS and a lot of customizeability, and you use big cubes. Go with Roux if you want a fast method with low TPS but low alg/move count and almost completely intuitive, go with ZZ or ZZ-CT if you like OH and EOLine, as it's pretty good for OH, and go with Petrus if you hate yourself.

I'm terrible at it... I haven't finished 1 in 10 years, and I only have them 10 years. My grandpa knew/knows someone who could do it in a few seconds, he was a hobby speedcuber
