Ok I got it thanks. But why can I skip the other steps out of curiosity because I just wanna make sure I did everything right. And is this sysnand or EMUnand being dumped?

Anyway thanks for your help.

P.S: Crap I forgot one more thing. It said to delete the nand.bin after it was backed up but can I delete the .sha file as well or do I need that?
Yeah you can delete that if you like. You need to keep it backed up though (it helps your 3DS work out if the NAND file is corrupted so it can avoid flashing it if it is).
Edit: for the first question, you can skip that because you already did it when you updated to b9s. (If you didn't - you can do that if you like, it lets your console boot with no SD card).

You can just update. But keep in mind if you do that you'll no longer be able to use any homebrew (until smealum updates the O3DS payloads for 11.4). If you want to use homebrew then follow 3ds.guide before updating.

So i can just update the sysnand, and that will remove/disable the cfw? And i don't get a brick then? Sorry for the stupid questions but i don't want to get a brick :P

Yes but why would you not want any homebrew or CFW? You don't currently actually have anything installed to your console, if you changed your SD card then it would all be gone (assuming you also uninstall menuhax by changing your theme, if you have it).

Just want to have my 3ds clean again, and use homebrew again, when/if it is update to the latest payloads. But maybe it is easier to just update Luma and the cfw to the latest version, and enter the eshop then, is that possible without AL9H? Want to enter the eshop, but that isn't possible on 9.2. Oh, and i don't use Menuhax, but Ninjhax. Thanks for your help. It is nice to know that i can uninstill it without doing anything diffecult.

You'll lock yourself out of homebrew if you update. Maybe smealum will never figure out O3DS payloads and you'll be locked out forever. In the other hand, you could spend half an hour installing b9s and have homebrew installable on your homemenu for super convenience, plus GBA VC works many times better than userland homebrew GBA emulators. Plus other things that run better. It's definitely up to you but.... I see this as asking asking how can you push your car into the lake and then being satisfied waiting for a bus that might never show up. When you could have just driven your car.

What is DSP Dump /DSP1 and why does the new 3ds guide have it .. the guide doesn't explain it

I assume it dumps something .. but why? and its not the Nand which is used to go back...

Hello everyone

I got quiet few noob questions for you... 1st of all let me explain my current situation.
I borrowed an O3ds from a friend of mine and hacked it following the well known guide.
Few days ago i checked that there is a new method for hack the new 11.4 firmware (which i got it into my O3ds) and reading trough the guide i got some questions for you.

1. None of both device has got a NNID... is it a problem?
2. After following the new guide, can i format my friend 3ds with cwf kept installed right?
3. After following the guide , can i just keep using my 64gb sd card (which is currently on my friend's 3ds and installed various games and themes) into my 3ds without loosing a thing?
4. Could you please me tell me if I'm missing something?

Thanks to anyone which replies and sorry for my English

Is there any way other than DSiWare Save injection to modify a non-modified 3DS system? Unfortunately, its updated to the latest version, thanks in advance.

Can you explain the difference? And how high is the risk of bricking the system?
Hardmod means physically wiring some cables inside your 3ds to write to it. Here is a guide to hardmod: https://gbatemp.net/threads/414498/ dsiwarehax will be a lot easier if you can have access to an already cfw 3ds (You COULD buy a 2ds, hack it do dsiwarehax, unhack it and return it)
In dsiwarehax, there is almost no risk unless you don't follow the instructions. In hardmod you could physically damage the device if you don't have experience soldering.

Ahh thanks man. I guess I won't be able to hack it then, we don't have those 30 day warranties in my country sadly hahaha, and there's no NNID linked in my 3DS either so I can't buy the said games. Thanks though!

Hey guys,

I have an o3dsxl running Luma (Don't remember which version exactly) and A9LH. I tried TWLoader for playing DS Games but it didn't worked for me, to slow and/or glitchy, I wonder if I can use a flashcart to play DS games on my 3DS with cfw? And if yes, which one should I get and how does it work?

Ds flashcards work. I'd get DSTT, but I'm not the best person to be asked for advice about which is the best. They load nds files from a micro SD card inside the cart.

So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
