I've been trying to figure out how to use SaltySD with Sm4sh 3DS all day. The Smash selector 2.2 CIA will not boot up. It shows the splash screen and goes to the home menu, it started on the first boot up and ever since it has been crashing. I would like to know what I could do to fix this and how to use the new Luma3DS feature for mods. Please and thank you :)

Smash selector can be a pain to use sometimes. I've had the best luck by just installing salty SD and puting some files on the SD card. I've had no issues with that. As for smash selector. If you are choosing between several Mods, you should have different folders in the saltySD folder called smash, smash1, ect.

Can I see what your folders look like? The mods aren't loading when I do it normal like that.

Do you have a crash dump?

Either way,

Smash Selector no longer works like this. Upon first boot, it will move your mods to SaltySDMODS. The active mod folder will be in SaltySD folder, and inactives will be in Slot folders in MODS.

@sadboychaz Could you go see if going into 3ds/data/smash-selector and deleting the config file solves anything?

Also, make sure to move your mods (slot_x) from SaltySDMODS back to saltysd, and rename them to smashx.

Are these romfs patches? If so, which CFW are you using? If you're using Luma3DS, it already includes romfs support.

If you don't want to switch between modpacks, Smash-Selector is not required.

After deleting it booted up and crashed and continues to do the same thing. Idk what is wrong with it. *never mind i continued to press down until it booted and when it did i went down in the menu and it stayed up*

You put the mod files in SD:/SaltySD/smash
IDK what's with the cart. Try blowing in it. ;)

Well I've fixed the crash on saltysd. I deleted the config file and spammed down on first boot. The cartridge is a familiar problem I've had before. I'm not quite sure what causes this but it fixes itself at some point.
