You can install from FAT32 USB to system storage, but not to FAT32. You can copy the installed folders over to the drive after you've installed them, but that's not actually installing them. Also, the performance when executing games is around loadiine's speed. I don't use wup gx2, so I don't know if that specific app will work for the installs, but it should.
So we can't have a fat32 USB as well as a wii u native USB drive? Thanks for the info

I did that. I ignored the format HDD msg and booted mocha. Then went into web exploit then loadiine and it showed contents from SD card not the USB
What an I doing wrong
Maybe if you follow all the steps that are in the guide, you will be able to use it.

Keep in mind that the object was to make the FAT32 drive be recognized by the Wii U natively, and when you have two Wii U USB drives connected, you can only do data management . Nintendo could have given the options "Cancel" "Manage Data Now" and "Choose Active Drive", but they didn't. You only get the first two options.

yes but my thinking was that the wii u sees the fat32 usb hard drive as a fat32 sd card, hopefully allowing the use of the second non fat32 wii u formatted hard drive simultaneously. which would also be sweet for those still hanging on to wii games via vwii. have you tested it then?

Yes, I've tested what was compiled. It behaves as I described. The issue is that the drive is mounted both ways. It has its own storage device name, and it takes over the sd name. It would probably not be difficult to eschew mounting it as Wii U USB for the sake of having both drives attached, but that's not what Dimok was heading for. (and the Format pop-up would be back)

Nice way to promote the thread you started. :P
Mr O. already took the time to document the process, but he has no obligation to provide ongoing support for it beyond updating the OP when the facts change. The funny thing is, Mr O's acknowledgement that the method has outlived its usefulness for his purposes is input that readers of the thread should consider, so in effect, he is promoting the thread - just not the method it details. ;)

Besides, your question is a Mocha question. The OP explains that he's not the developer or even the program's compiler. Why would he have any information that you don't?

I see. Thanks for taking the time to explain that to me.

When you ran Mocha and it restarted back to the Wii U Menu, did you get the format message that time? Take a look at the HDD from your PC. If the Wii U recognized the FAT32 drive, it would have created /usr and several directories under /usr, like /usr/title. Do you see any of those?
i got an error to scan and fix and after selecting fix it there was no usr/ on the hdd

That's another indicator that Mocha didn't see the drive. I wish the screen text had been modified in some way so you could tell for sure that you're running the FAT32 version of mocha. It really sounds like you're not.

I complete the wiiu.guide.
Now i have my wii u autoboot to MochaCFW ( Autoboot REDNAND ).

I did all your step. But MochaCFW keep asking to format my HARDRIVE ( FAT32 64K ).

in \wiiu\mocha (both SD and HDD )
has your mocha.elf and a file called "config.ini" do i need to delete this file?

I really wanna mount my HDD as my SD card, because REDNAND Halved my SD freespace!

Thank you so much!!

I found where i did wrong. (i was copying to \wiiu\mocha) correct was (\wiiu\apps\mocha), i don't know why i had a mocha folder in wiiu\ )
Thank you so much for the guide, It has helped me a lot!!

I was installing a game to REDNAND and was talking foreverrrrrr. So now I'm staling from HDD to MicroSD (RENAND) and are now "faster"

this is great! thanks Mr. O! i'd like to give it a go as i need to free up a disk due to a laptop disk failure so i'm interested in freeing up the 2TB disk i have dedicated to wiiu in order to use one of the laptop disks i currently use for part of my series collection.

been using the wup installer method and mocha for some time and it's been great. i've seen this asked before and perhaps i'm stupid but i haven't seen anyone give a clear answer yet.
is loadiine as fast running games (i don't really care about load times) with this method as the wup method?

i'm mostly playing BotW now installed with wup and would like to move my games (with my save games using saviine of course) to the other 3TB HDD (partitioned with a FAT32 2TB partition) i have dedicated to wii/gamecube/emulated games.

so in short, are my games going to work as smoothly (or as smoothly as BotW goes anyway) with this method as they do with the wup one?

also slightly off-topic, is there a way to create a FAT32 3TB partition? so far i've only read posts in other places where they say it's possible but i was unsuccessful..hence my 2TB FAT32 partitioning on a 3tb disk. apologies in advance for my stupid..

Yes. Its possible do have a 3Tb 4Tb MBR partition formated to FAT32. But you gonna need a very specific Seagate 3.5 case. A old one expasion model. I got one and ill try to setup 8Tb in it.

I remember old days i used to have a 3Tb Fat32 with my Wii. But was so much wii games that usbloader GX was not able to use search function.

Now talking about games. I cant get installed games moved to fat32 mounted partition. I think this mocha fat32 its very beta.

what do you mean by installed games? the ones installed with wup method?

the loadiine-ready games should be copied to the fat32 like this USB1:/wiiu/games/Title/ as OP stated.

last off-topic remark, i wasn't aware of that very specific Seagate 3.5 case.. interesting..

Im talking about wup games. Cant copy from internal memory and cant finish install.

Yes. Back in the days. For windows XP do read and recognize 3Tb+ External HDD seagate used to sell 3tb+ with a specific sata read/chip into its External case that make possible MBR 3Tb+
