Oh god no.
...actually, I can still pirate it on Wii U. I'm a bit less mad.

Seriously, though, what the hell were they thinking?
I don't get why this needs DLC at all. I'm sure it'll be great, but... really?
I'm somewhat surprised the DLC is even coming to Wii U at all, considering how much of an afterthought it seems to be to them.

Game's release date: March 3, 2017
DLC announced: February 24, 2017

Nothing about it? Talk about being oblivious.

If they really want to push DLC then they should have waited for the game to be out and then announce it afterwards. Also, Hard Mode shouldn't be DLC. That's ridiculous.

In the big picture what does hiding the fact that there's DLC until the game is released accomplish? Tricks you into feeling better about it? It's the same exact thing. Either way the DLC has been finished before the game went gold.

you all seem surprised they are doing this. don't you remember they did on on mariokart 8?
At least that DLC added more (awesome) stages and characters, and wasn't released on day 1.

Mario Kart 8 was relatively reasonable. $12 for the whole thing on top of a complete Mario Kart which still received free DLC like 200cc. We knew what we were getting, a new cup and characters with each. Though I imagine lots of people would have preferred Battle Mode to be DLC.

With this it seems DLC 1 is just cave of trials, hard mode, and a map feature. So Twilight Princess HD again with the cave, paying for hard mode is a first for Zelda, and a new map option? We can already mark stuff so setting a path or something?

DLC 2 seems to be where the meat is, but it's still kinda vague.

Don't have a problem with the second dlc.
Hard-Mode.. DLC. Mhmm could be more to it, who knows. The Legend of Zelda Souls: Breath of the Death... i love it.

Back in my days, DLC wasn't even a thing. Instead, in order to unlock things, you had to complete certain criteria.

But nowadays, things have changed. Starting with the PSP, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, games now have DLC which the "consumers" have to pay for. Some games even go an extreme (such as betting on items).

I've never bought DLC, never have and never will. I prefer to just download digital stuff for free. And I've never really been happy about the way all the gaming giants have been capitalising on "extra fees to unlock newer features", instead of requiring the player to unlock them through completing certain criteria. And why the sudden change from free online multiplayer to paid online multiplayer? This was never the case in the past. If I could build a time machine to go back to 2008 or earlier, I would use it.

Don't you think the gaming giants have started to become more greedy? That's why I say, don't feed the gaming giants with more cash than what you buy physically, otherwise more people will run into debt in a blink of an eye. ^^'
